Speed Up[Japanese title] is an item which appears in the Top Ride mode of Kirby Air Ride. It can appear during standard races, dropping onto the course at random intervals and in a random location, though it will not appear if items are set to "Attack" or "Off" in the Top Ride menu. When touched by a racer, a jet is placed on the back of that racer's vehicle, emitting a continuous blue flame behind that racer's Air Ride Machine and greatly increasing speed for a short time, though adversely affecting the racer's ability to turn smoothly.

Speed Up can be knocked off prematurely if the racer is hit, performs a Quick Spin or falls into a stage hazard.
