Starman is an uncommon yellow caped foe who first appeared in Kirby's Adventure. He is best described as a bulbous round creature with no face, a head that splits in two, and wearing a gem-inset cape. When Kirby swallows a Starman, he receives the Hi-Jump ability, and is the only source in the series for said ability outside of a Mix or Copy Essence.
Starmen are mostly found in areas which involve long vertical passages, as well as appearing during the battles with Kracko and Mecha-Kracko. They walk around casually, and jump at random times. They are also occasionally seen flying around horizontally. They do not seem to jump more or less often when Kirby is around than when he is not.

Locations
Starman is a semi-frequent foe, and his appearance often means that a Hi-Jump puzzle is afoot. Starman can be found in the following levels and stages:

Starman also appears as part of the fight against Kracko Jr. and Kracko in the boss stage of Grape Garden.
Kirby's Dream Course
Starman appears in this game as one of the enemies to bump into on the courses. He provides the Hi-Jump ability to Kirby when defeated.
Kirby: Squeak Squad

Starman can be possessed by Ghost Kirby. Unlike most other enemies, Starman gains an altered move-set when possessed. He gains the ability to fly in any direction, but he flies much faster when going upward, and is able to break through objects like Star Blocks while doing so. He cannot harm enemies without also taking damage, however.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land
Starman makes his debut 3-D appearance in this game. He can be seen walking slowly, but will jump upward a fair distance after a specific amount of time. Aside from this, he is not very dangerous.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe
Starman appears in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, but is only encountered during Dedede's Drum Dash. As such, he cannot provide the Hi-Jump ability in this game.
Starman also appears as a randomly-obtained Keychain, represented by his sprite from Kirby: Squeak Squad.
Super Smash Bros. series
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Starman appears as a sticker in this game, usable in The Subspace Emissary. It increases launch power by 33 points, but only works with Kirby, King Dedede, and Meta Knight.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Starman appears as a trophy in this game:

Trivia
- The name "Starman" is sometimes used for the invincibility powerup from the Mario games.
- Starman looks similar to a stereotypical flying superhero, in that it makes enormous leaps, flies around with arms out in front, and wears a cape.
