Metroid is an enemy from its namesake series that appears in Kirby's Dream Land 3. It can only be found in Stage 2 of Iceberg, in the magma-filled caverns.
It somewhat resembles a jellyfish, though it has teeth on its underside and a veiny interior surrounded by a transparent membrane. It floats about, and will attempt to attach to Kirby's head, though it doesn't seem to hurt him at all.
Metroid cannot be inhaled or harmed by most forms of attack. The only thing that can defeat it is the Ice ability, which references the fact that Metroids are weak to the Ice Beam in their home series. Kirby has to dispatch all six of the Metroids in this fashion in order to get a Heart Star from Samus at the end of the stage.
