The Kirby 25th Anniversary Copy Ability Poll was a series of two polls in which fans could vote for their favorite Copy Abilities. The polls were directly tied to Kirby Battle Royale, as well as the series' 25th anniversary.
Overview[edit]
During the days the poll was active, fans could select only one Copy Ability to vote for; however, they could submit a vote per day, and the votes could differ from one day to another.
In truth, there were three separate polls for both rounds: one in the North American website for Kirby Battle Royale, one in the Japanese website for the same game, and another in the general Nintendo European website. Despite featuring multiple language versions of the poll, the European one was counted as only one. This meant that fans could vote for all three polls in a given day, as voting was not region-locked, and simply happened on different websites.
First vote[edit]
On September 13, 2017, the poll was announced in that day's Nintendo Direct. The poll's goal was to determine the world's favorite Copy Ability, and featured all regular abilities from the series up until then. The winning Copy Ability would get a Nintendo 3DS theme and custom wallpaper and, if possible, would also be added to Kirby Battle Royale. The vote was open until October 2nd, 2017.

Results[edit]
On September 22, 2017, the Kirby 25th Anniversary and Nintendo of Europe Twitter accounts released an Interim Report on the first round of the poll. The top 5 Copy Abilities were Mirror, Yo-Yo, UFO, Plasma and Sleep respectively.[1][2] Later, on September 30, 2017, the Kirby 25th Anniversary Twitter account announced that the results of the Copy Ability Poll would be released some time in November. The official North American Kirby website gave a specific date of November 7, 2017, after the poll ended in all regions.
The final results of the 5th and 4th most voted Copy Abilities for the poll were announced in a Tweet by Nintendo of America on November 6, 2017, namely Plasma in 5th, and UFO in 4th.[3] The day after, on November 7, 2017, the the top 3 most voted Copy Abilities were announced: Sleep, Yo-Yo, and Mirror scored 3rd, 2nd, and 1st, respectively, making Mirror the winner.[4]
Following the reveal of the results, the Japanese website of the poll released the top 10 overall ranking abilities of the first round:[5]

Second vote[edit]
On November 15th, 2017, a second round of voting, called Kirby 25th Anniversary Copy Ability Poll: Final Round, was revealed and started, which ran until December 2nd, 2017. Unlike the previous round, which included every regular Copy Ability and had to goal to determine the most popular Copy Ability, the second round of voting had simply the goal to choose another Copy Ability to be added to Kirby Battle Royale. As such, only Copy Abilities already not in the game and eligible to be added were part of this round of voting.
Results[edit]
On November 25, 2017, The Kirby Twitter account released an Interim Report on the second Copy Ability poll. The top 8 Copy Abilities in no particular order were Animal, Water, ESP, Suplex, Sleep, Paint, UFO, and Yo-Yo.[6]
On January 31, 2018, the results of the second Copy Ability poll were announced, with Suplex, Yo-Yo, and Sleep placing in the top three, in third, second and first respectively, making Sleep the winner.[7]
Following the reveal of the results, the Japanese website of the poll once again released the top 10 overall ranking abilities of the final round:[8]
