There are many entities in the Kirby series that are either variants of Waddle Dees, distinguished Waddle Dees, or similar to Waddle Dees. They are as follows:

Varieties of Waddle Dee[edit]

Waddle Dees can be found in many different roles and varieties. In Kirby Star Allies, they can even be seen packed tightly into giant boulders and sent rolling down hills.

Distinguished Waddle Dees[edit]

Bandana Waddle Dee is the most notable Waddle Dee in the series, often serving as a playable character or playing a key support role.

The following Waddle Dees are noteworthy as individuals in the series, and usually have some article of clothing to distinguish themselves from others:

Relatives of Waddle Dee[edit]

There are many other enemies in the series that are similar to Waddle Dees in look and/or behavior. Waddle Doo is the most notable example of this.

These creatures are not Waddle Dees (arguably), but are very similar in look and/or behavior (and may be biologically related):

  • Waddle Doo - A creature with a similar body shape and behavior to Waddle Dees, but has a face consisting only of a large singular eye and two strands of hair above it. It fires a beam whip from its eye, and provide the Beam ability when swallowed. Parasol-wielding variants also exist.
  • Wapod - This creature resembles a ghostly Waddle Dee, but their relationship has not been concretely confirmed.
  • Batamon - A pink creature who behaves like a Waddle Dee, but looks more like Kirby. It is debatable whether these creatures are related to Kirby or not.
  • Yarn Waddle Dee - These yarn duplicates of Waddle Dees are actually impostors created by Yin-Yarn. They can be defeated easily using the yarn whip. Some varieties wield a spear, use a bow and arrows, carry balloons or a parasol, or ride in a truck.
  • Key Dee - Similar in look to a Waddle Dee and is usually gold in color, bearing special face markings and a monkey's tail. They are usually seen carrying something of value, whether that be a Key, a Battery, or another item.
  • Halcandle Dee - A gray alien-like creature which inhabits Halcandra and acts similarly to a Waddle Dee.
  • Spookstep - A ghostly creature who behaves much like a Waddle Dee. They are sometimes invisible, being seen only by looking at them through a mirror.
  • Sectra Dee - A bug-like creature under Queen Sectonia's rule, which replaces Waddle Dees in Royal Road.
  • Haltworker - An employee of the Haltmann Works Company who can be seen wielding Spark pistols, and piloting Invader Armor.
  • Labotory - Lab tech personnel for the Haltmann Works Company who wear scuba-like suits and wield flails in combat.
  • Jambeliever - Strange creatures which follow Jammerjab and serve Jambandra in Kirby Star Allies.

Additionally, while not truly related, some games substitute Waddle Dees with different enemies for story-related reasons, usually with similar behavior and weaknesses. Examples of these basic enemies include:
