Thornsby is an enemy which made its first appearance in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. It stays rooted in one place in a totem of three or more, though it is also sometimes seen shuffling to the left or right. While the brown Thornsbys are spiked and therefore hazardous to touch, the yellow Thornsbys can be easily defeated by Kirby's Touch Dash or Waddle Dee's spear. Defeating Thornsby confers 100 points and 3 Point Stars.

In the Story Mode, Thornsby appears only in the stage Volcanic Panic. It can however be encountered more frequently in Challenge Mode.
