“ | KRRR-RACKK! Dance to my deadly music, or fry like a moth! HA HA!! | ” | — Kracko, Kirby's Avalanche |
Kracko is a recurring boss which resembles a cloud with spikes. It also has a weaker, more premature form called Kracko Jr..
Battle Style
Kracko's attacks vary depending on the game, but this table describes the recurring attacks that he uses.
Kracko's attacks | |

Attack | Description |
Enemy Spawn | |
Star Beam | |
Swoop | |
Lightning Sweep | |
Bullet Rain | |
Co-Kracko |
Appearances
Kirby's Dream Land
Kracko's first appearance was as the third boss of the stage Bubbly Clouds. In this stage he also appears as a mini-boss as Kracko Jr. Like every boss, he has 6 HP, while his Kracko Jr. form has 3, like every mini-boss. Kracko summons Waddle Doos and uses a variety of Beam attacks.
Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare in Dream Land
Kracko appeared as the fourth boss of this game. When Kirby enters the boss stage Kracko Jr. appears. Kirby has to inhale a Starman and gain the Hi-Jump ability. Kirby then has to go to the top op the stage while being followed by Kracko Jr. When Kirby reaches the top Kracko Jr. Turns into Kracko and Kirby has to fight him either by using the Hi-Jump ability or spitting the Waddle Doo's back at him.
Kirby's Dream Land 2
Kracko appears again as the boss of stage 6: Cloudy Park. He begins as Kracko Jr., and after this form is defeated, he refills his health and turns into the full-grown Kracko. In his Kracko Jr. form he uses an attack that he's never used before and hasn't used since, where he merges into the cloudy ground, and jumps out to attack Kirby.
Kirby's Dream Land 3
Despite Kracko not truly appearing in Kirby's Dream Land 3, a painting is drawn by Ado. Interestingly, Ado is fought in Cloudy Park where Kracko was fought in Kirby's Dream Land 2. He can still shoot lightning.
Kirby Super Star (Ultra)
Kracko was a boss in Kirby Super Star. He appeared in Spring Breeze, Milky Way Wishes, the Arena, Revenge of the King, Meta Knightmare Ultra, and the True Arena. In Revenge of the King and the True Arena, he evolves into Kracko's Revenge. Kracko's Revenge is notably different from standard Kracko. He is purplish instead of white, and has a red eye. The spikes around him are black. Along with Kracko's standard attacks, he can fly into the middle of the screen and shoot large bolts of lightning in eight different directions. His Star Beam attack is larger, and his lightning attacks are more targeted.
Kirby's Avalanche
Kracko is the opponent in stage 11. He is the third-to-last enemy, and only Meta Knight and King Dedede are fought after him.
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
Kracko appears as the boss of Mustard Mountain. Unlike previous games, this is the only game to put Kracko in a place that is not in some way related to clouds. In this game, it creates Flamers instead of Waddle Doos.
Kirby: Canvas Curse
Kracko appears as Boss fought after the second time his image is selected from Drawcia's choice of three boss paintings. After his defeat, the sub-game, Block Attack will be unlocked. Kracko appears in the Level 2 and 3 difficulties. Kirby defeats Kracko while in the form of a ball, since no Copy Abilities are available in the sub-game. Kracko's only attack is much more accurately described as a passive-defensive electrical charge. Although he moves around the screen, Kirby is in constant motion and only takes damage when contacting Kracko in his charged state. The clouds and spikes surrounding Kracko are destroyed, temporarily, when Kirby smashes into them. Kracko only takes damage when his central eyeball is hit. Although the clouds surrounding him can be temporarily eliminated, when Kracko's electrical aura fires, the destroyed clouds appear in the aura and will damage Kirby upon contact. This incarnation of Kracko does not generate any enemies.
Kirby Squeak Squad
- Main article: Mecha-Kracko
Despite Kracko himself not really appearing in Kirby Squeak Squad, Doc appears as the boss of Cushy Cloud, and uses a mech that is made in the likeness of Kracko.
Kirby Air Ride
In Kirby Air Ride, Kracko is actually an item in Top Ride, not a boss. He selects a random opponent and strikes them with powerful lightning. Because of his power, he is a rare item.
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Kracko is, surprisingly, a mid-boss in Kirby's Epic Yarn. He is fought three times. The first time he chases Kirby for a short distance in Cloud Palace. Much later in the level, Kracko is actually fought. Kirby defeats it with his starship, the Star Shooter. He is encountered a third time as a mid-boss in Space Land, fittingly as Space Kracko.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe
“ | It seems Kracko has made Floralia part of its territory. It's being fed by a mysterious power source, so its attacks are stronger than ever before! | ” | — Triple Deluxe Boss description |
In Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Kracko appears as the boss of Level 3, Old Odyssey and is fought again in Stage 2 of Royal Road. It appears after being summoned (inadvertently) by Taranza in a last-ditch effort to escape Kirby. Kracko is souped up and possesses many new attacks not seen in previous iterations. It also has a DX form which is even more powerful.
The following lists all of Kracko's attacks in Story Mode and The Arena in Kirby: Triple Deluxe. Attacks in italics are used in the second phase of the fight only.
Attacks - Normal | |
---|---|
Attack | Description |
Summon Minion | |
Star Beam | |
Dive | |
Rain Storm | |
Lightning Storm | |
Long Horn | |
Ejection | |
Super Lightning Storm | |
Cross Thunder | |
Beam Barrage | |
Charge Shot |
Whenever Kracko takes a hit, a visible tear drops from its single eye. Upon being reduced to half health, its eye and complexion become red, and it opens up with many more attacks after clearing away the background with a whirlwind, making it a factor in the fight.
Kirby Fighters Deluxe
Kracko appears as a Boss on its own home stage. It will attack the fighting Kirbys and can be defeated.
Team Kirby Clash Deluxe
“ | Face the ordeal--the desert-ruling cloud with the force of a natural disaster! | ” | — flavor text from Team Kirby Clash Deluxe |
Kracko is encountered twice in this spinoff adventure. Its moves are mostly the same as its Triple Deluxe incarnation, though stripped down to accommodate a single-plane arena.
Kracko serves as the first Ordeal, and defeating it unlocks the Ruins.
Kirby: Right Back at Ya!
In the anime, Kracko appears in episode four, "A Dark and Stormy Knight." He is much more powerful than he is in the games.
Trivia
- The games do not clearly state whether Kracko is the father of Kracko Jr., or just a powered-up form of him, although in some games, Kracko Jr. can be seen transforming into Kracko.
