"Supreme Ruler's Coronation - OVERLORD" is a medley from Kirby Star Allies that plays as the Morpho Knight battle theme for Magolor. The theme is also associated with the battle against Magolor Soul in The True Arena of Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. It was composed by Hirokazu Ando.[1]
Composition
"Supreme Ruler's Coronation" is a medley based on themes from Kirby's Return to Dream Land and a successor to "C-R-O-W-N-E-D". However, it has a generally less somber tone and adds more themes to the mix. Much like "C-R-O-W-N-E-D", it is set in the key of F minor at 4/4.
It starts off with the intro of "C-R-O-W-N-E-D" before diverging during the transition. In the same key, "Dangerous Dinner" begins. It goes through the "Four Adventurers: Cookie Country" phrase fully, as well as the first phrase from "The Adventure Begins", while the second phrase goes into the background as "Fly, Kirby!" takes over climactically. The pace slows down, and a descending harp glissando leads into the more ominous "Limitless Power", adjusted to fit 4/4 and serving as an intro to the following phrase of "Magolor, the Far-Flung Traveler", specifically as heard in "C-R-O-W-N-E-D" with its "Road to Victory" conclusion and modulating resolution, here to D-flat/C-sharp minor. The transitional phrase from the start of this theme plays again, now prior to "C-R-O-W-N-E-D" proper. Playing out faithfully, it modulates back to F minor and includes small phrases of "Road to Victory" in the background. Much like in the first part of "C-R-O-W-N-E-D", "Four Adventurers: Cookie Country" follows, here with hints of the hopeful parallel A-flat major.
From this point, the theme begins to diverge from "C-R-O-W-N-E-D" again, now with a heroic quotation of the middle section of "Road to Victory" in F minor mixed with "Magolor, the Far-Flung Traveler". This eventually transitions to "Sky Tower" with hints of "Magolor, the Far-Flung Traveler" again, approaching a climax and reaching A-flat minor. Here, with a triangle tremolo in the background, "Road to Victory" and a minor iteration of "Green Greens" interact in rapid succession. As a final climax, "Kirby's Triumphant Return" plays twice gloriously, in the same way as it sounds in "C-R-O-W-N-E-D". A conclusive section follows with phrases of "Dangerous Dinner", fanfares, and piano and harp glissandi. The theme then accelerates and loops back to the first transitional phrase.
