"Welcome to the New World!" (also stylized as "WELCOME TO THE NEW WORLD!") is a song from Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It is the anthem of the New World, and was a popular song back when the world was still inhabited by its original residents. Its singer, Neichel, was a famous diva in the New World.[1]
The song's melody serves as the basis for many songs in the game's soundtrack, and is one of the few Kirby series songs to have vocalized lyrics.
Credits
- Vocals: Neichel
- Lyrics: Shinya Kumazaki

Game appearances
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
The song is the basis of many of the game's tracks. Sections of it can also be found in many others.
The song in itself is named and performed in-game multiple times. The first time it's heard is in the cutscene of the same name, which occurs in the Point of Arrival stage near the bridge that leads into Waddle Dee Town. When Car-Mouth Kirby uses Turbo Dash to knock the bridge down in order to drive into Waddle Dee Town, the impact will cause the nearby radio to turn on and begin playing the song.
After the player completes Lab Discovera or Forgo Land for the first time, the full version of the song will play during the credits accompanied by photos of Kirby's adventure. Once the Waddle Live! Corner Stage is fully upgraded, The Deedly Dees can be requested to play an instrumental version called "Welcome to the New World! (Bonus Track)".
The theme is also remixed numerous times:
- "Ready to Go!" - An electronic guitar remix used as the title screen theme.
- "Waddle Dee Town" - An acoustic remix used as Waddle Dee Town's main theme.
- "Forgo's Treasures" - An electric-like remix used for Treasure Road stages in Originull Wasteland and Redgar Forbidden Lands.
- "Elfilin" - A calm, piano remix used after defeating Leongar in Lab Discovera and at the start of the "Slumbering, Caged Leon" cutscene.
- "In Pursuit of Victory" - A blood-pumping rock remix used in The Ultimate Cup Z's rest areas prior to rounds 1-11.
- "Try Again Tomorrow... Again!" - Theme that plays after failing in The Ultimate Cup Z.
- "Finding the Light" - Theme for the cutscene with the same name. It starts out with violin, eventually adding more instruments as the song goes.
- "A Thriving, Peaceful Town" - Remix of "Waddle Dee Town" with more instruments.
- "Got 'Em All! Gotcha Machine Master" - A remix with many instruments. Used when checking the Figure Collection upon collecting every Figure in the game.
Many other themes also incorporate it, such as "Blue, Blue Breeze", "The Dream Discoveries Tour", and more.
Kirby's Dream Buffet
If the player has Kirby and the Forgotten Land save data on their Switch, then after completing their first Gourmet Grand Prix, three music tracks from the game automatically unlock and have a chance to play during races. The full vocal version of "Welcome to the New World!" is one of these tracks, labelled as Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Bonus Song 3 in-game. Much like "Green Tree Memories from Kirby" and the "King Dedede Medley", the music won't switch to a different track during the minigame portion of the Gourmet Grand Prix.
Other appearances
The song appeared as a special performance during the Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Festival, where it was sung as a duet between Neichel (the anonymous, female singer) and Makiko Ohmoto (the voice of Kirby). The first half was sung in the New World language, while the second - in Japanese. In addition, "Soaring Determination: No Night Is Eternal", an arrangement of "Welcome to the New World!", was incorporated into Kirby Endings medley, alongside "Milky Way Wishes: Staff Credits", "Project K-64", the ending theme from Kirby: Squeak Squad, "Return to Dream Land", and "A New Wind for Tomorrow".
Lyrics
The following are the full lyrics to the song:
Strange horizon. Ready to go.
ファ ルーティア フェリウァミ?
Étrange horizon. Il faut y aller.
Étrange horizon. Il faut y aller.
Seltsamer Horizont. Auf Los geht's los.
Extraño horizonte. Es hora de partir.
Extraño horizonte. Es hora de partir.
Uno strano orizzonte. È ora di avviarsi.
Zie je de einder? Daar gaan we heen

Trivia
- In the various promotional trailers for Kirby and the Forgotten Land such as the "Copy Abilities and Co-op" trailer, an instrumental version of "Welcome to the New World!" is used. This version differs from the instrumental found in the final game; it features an electric guitar and organ playing the main melody, while the final version uses a flute.
- According to Shinya Kumazaki, he first wrote the Japanese lyrics and then translated them into the New World language. The sung language is a mixture of corrupted Japanese and English. One of the words in the language is the singer's name, Neichel (ネイチェル), which means "nature" and is a corrupted Japanese spelling of "natural" (also used in the level Natural Plains).[1]
- The Chinese and Korean lyrics are direct translations of the Japanese lyrics. The lyrics for the other languages seem to be based on the English lyrics.
- The singer's real-life identity has not been revealed, but she appeared in-person for the Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Festival.
- "Welcome to the New World!" is Tatsuya Kamiyama's favorite theme from Kirby and the Forgotten Land.[3]
