{| class="sortable wikitable mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" border=1 cellpadding=2
Being based in Japan, the Kirby series requires a degree of interpretation in order to be localized into other languages for other regions. Since WiKirby is an English-language wiki based in the United States, the official American English localization is the one that takes priority in all articles.

|Kirby Star Allies Quick Look: Turn enemies into friends!

|The Kirby™ Star Allies game will be coming out on March 16, and the pink puff is packing some helpful new moves. How helpful? Let's take a look!

Kirby's new Friend Heart ability can turn enemies into friends! You can recruit three Friends total if you're playing by yourself. And if your friends are around, all four of you can play at the same time (additional controllers sold separately).
Differences in continuities
In many cases, not only is the language changed during a localization, but the content is as well. As a result, the continuity of various Kirby media can and does differ between languages. When discussing an article whose details are different depending on region, the American English localization should be used first and foremost. In cases where the British English localization differs, these differences may be noted separately.

Copy Abilities are back with a twist. Kirby and his friends can share their abilities to perform powerful Friend Abilities. You'll need them to solve puzzles and beat tough foes. Tough foes like...
For the sake of completeness (and often interesting trivia), localization differences in continuity can be mentioned in appropriate articles using a "Regional differences" section. However, only pertinent differences should be mentioned. Generally, this boils down to the Japanese text (the original language) and the English localizations (the language the wiki uses). The Korean and Chinese localizations tend to follow the Japanese text, while all other languages tend to follow the English localizations. These other languages do not need to be mentioned if this is the case, but may be mentioned if they have unique differences.
... Francisca!

She's a new character debuting in Kirby Star Allies. Watch out because Francisca uses the power of ice to attack. What a chilly welcome...
Likewise, article names should reflect the American English localization whenever possible; British English localization differences may be used as redirect titles. For more information on this subject, see Help:Redirects and the Naming policy.

That's all for this friendly update. Stay tuned to your news feed for more mini-updates on the Kirby Star Allies game!
Referring to regions
|None
In the past, analog televisions used different encoding standards depending on the region, and consequently, video games were redesigned to accommodate for these different standards. As such, when referring to older home consoles designed for analog televisions (the NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameCube, and Wii), it is acceptable to use the encoding standards "NTSC" and "PAL" to refer to different regional versions. This is because different versions of the games for these consoles are designed to be used with televisions of the respective standards, and as such, these terms are commonly used both in official labeling and unofficial parlance. This terminology should not be used for the Wii U or the Nintendo Switch, nor for any of Nintendo's handheld consoles.

|A dastardly new threat has reached planet Pop Star, and only Kirby and his friends can stop it! If you want to see the opening moments of the Kirby™ Star Allies game, please watch the video above.

Ah, but that's not all. If workout routines are more your thing, look below in the Related Videos section to see King Dedede's impeccable pecs. What an inspiration!
In addition, the phrase "in _ languages" (i.e. "in European languages") should be avoided when talking about regional differences. This is because different regions often use multiple languages, and there may be overlap between them. It is instead better to directly refer to the region (i.e. "in PAL regions" or "in Europe and Oceania") or the language (i.e. "in the British English version").

The Kirby Star Allies game comes out on March 16th. Please stay tuned for more news.

The Kirby™ and the Forgotten Land game is coming out really soon (March 25), and you may need a recap of what it's all about. Please watch the video to learn about Kirby's copy abilities (that's when he inhales a baddie up and borrows their abilities), how copy abilities evolve in the game, the bustling activities of Waddle Dee Town, co-op play, amiibo™ support*, and the very stretchy Mouthful Mode. If you've seen Kirby inhale a car and start driving around...yep, that's one example of Mouthful Mode.

2022 marks the 30th anniversary of Kirby, and a special event will happen later this year! This summer, a one-time orchestrated concert will be live streamed for free globally. It will feature a large, big band-style ensemble of musicians and span a variety of musical genres. We hope you keep your eyes (and ears) peeled for more info. Updates will be added to https://www.kirby.jp/30th-musicfest/eng/.
In the meantime, let's turn back the clock by-let's say-five years. In 2017, the Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert reimagined some of the delightful music you'd find in Kirby games. If you want to get in a Kirby kind of mood, here's a clip for you.

You can also choose from two difficulty modes for either a light, breezy adventure or a more challenging experience.
Get a mouthful of powerful transformations
Feeling hungry? In this game, Kirby can inhale real-world objects and transform using Mouthful Mode! Why get one drink from a vending machine when you can swallow the whole thing? Then, use your boxy body to shoot out cans at baddies. You can also consume a car to gain some wheels and slam through walls. You may be surprised by other things that Kirby can do!
Restore Waddle Dee Town
Each themed stage you travel through will hide several friendly Waddle Dees in peril. Save them to grow the home base of your adventure, the once-deserted Waddle Dee Town. The Waddle Dees you rescue will unlock shops, leaderboards*, and the ability to evolve copy abilities to make them stronger. You'll also be able to enjoy some of the townsfolk's favorite games. Use compatible amiibo™ accessories** or Present Codes at Waddle Dee-liveries for useful in-game items. Track down cute collectibles to give Kirby's house some extra charm either at the

Pass a Joy-Con™ controller to a buddy to play as the spear-wielding Bandana Waddle Dee and help each other explore and battle through this colorful world. |Kirby's 30th anniversary year is floating along swimmingly for the pink puff, so let's keep the content coming! Once again, we have a smorgasbord of content that Kirby himself would find delicious. Of course, he finds most things delicious...err, let's just keep moving here.
It's Kirby Time: Read-Along #2: Take Courage
Let's start with a wholesome break. You may have seen the readalong video that we previously shared, but now it's time for video #2! Once again, it's written by Asami Taniguchi and drawn by HYOGONOSUKE. What's Kirby up to in this video? Please watch to find out! More read-along videos will be coming in the future.
(And as we mentioned before, please share this video with someone else if it's not quite for you. It just may brighten their day!)
Controller tips for the Kirby™ and the Forgotten Land game
If you've been playing the Kirby and the Forgotten Land game, you may be thinking, “Yeah, I got this." And you know what? You probably do. It's good to have confidence, after all.
However, if you want to play with a little more style, try incorporating these moves into your, uh, playstyle.
Guard! Things can get hairy fast, so it's easy to forget that this move exists. If you press the R, ZR, L, or ZL buttons*, Kirby will do an adorable guard move that can cut down on the damage you take. Depending on the Copy Ability you have, your guard may also block damage completely! As they say, Ice is very nice....
Dodge! Wait, there's a dodge in the game!? Why yes there is! Just hold down one of the guard buttons and then press the Control Stick in any direction (you can even dodge diagonally!). This move is extremely useful during boss fights because you can avoid damage completely. Also, if you do it right before getting hit, you'll get a nifty slow-motion effect that sometimes lets you hit an enemy multiple times with a Copy Ability before they can react. As they say, if you're in danger, try dodging as a Ranger...
Slide! Once again, hold down a guard button and then press the jump button. This slide is handy for closing the gap in a pinch, and certain Copy Abilities can use it to great effect. As they say, you might be floored by the Sword...
Charge! Finally, don't forget that holding the attack button can charge some of your attacks (once again, this depends on your copy ability). If you're a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player, you already know that Kirby's charged-up Hammer packs quite a punch. As they say**, it's easy to cause a clamor with a charged-up Hammer...
New Present Code
Next up, let's talk presents-specifically, the Present Code feature for Kirby and the Forgotten Land. In the full version of the game, you can enter Present Codes at Waddle Dee-liveries that will unlock as you progress through the adventure. If you're connected online, you'll get a helpful in-game item or more!
Since it is Kirby's 30th birthday year, it shouldn't surprise you that today's code is: THIRTIETH. Please note that an internet connection is required, and the code will expire on 5/27.
OK, that's all for now. If you don't have the game yet, you can purchase it by using the link below.

localization policy rework for proposal[edit]

Being based in Japan, the Kirby series requires a degree of interpretation in order to be localized into other languages for other regions. Since WiKirby is an English-language wiki based in the United States, the official American English localization is the one that takes priority in all articles.

Differences in continuities[edit]

In many cases, not only is the language changed during a localization, but the content is as well. As a result, the continuity of various Kirby media can and does differ between languages. When discussing an article whose details are different depending on region, the American English localization should be used first and foremost. In cases where the British English localization differs, these differences may be noted separately.

Likewise, article names should reflect the American English localization whenever possible; British English localization differences may be used as redirect titles. For more information on this subject, see Help:Redirects and the Naming policy.

Referring to regions[edit]
