"Each to His Own World" is a cutscene theme from Kirby's Return to Dream Land that plays during the eponymous cutscene. It was composed by Hirokazu Ando.[1]
Composition[edit]
Being the final story cutscene theme, "Each to His Own World" features several distinct sections and motifs. It begins with the initial phrase of "Road to Victory", played over and over in D minor. As the dimension begins to shatter, vocals join, and the harmonies slowly change, adding more suspense. The music eventually slows down. With the appearance of the Lor Starcutter and Landia, the motif from "Halcandra: A New Enemy" picks up the pace again with the piano and brass. As the heroes fly on Landia's back, a stringed "The Adventure Begins" replaces "Road to Victory", and a resolute "Four Adventurers: Cookie Country" is played by several instruments along with "Kirby's Triumphant Return", hinting at F's doninant. A final G-flat (F-sharp) major "Four Adventurers: Cookie Country" phrase plays. When this motif ends, "Road to Victory" returns in a style similar to "Dimensional Silence" and fades out together with the portal.
Mirroring "A Visitor from Afar", "Road to Victory" plays once more in F major, with a gentle phrase of "The Adventure Begins" from the orchestra bells. When Kirby and co. wake up, a cheery and somewhat goofy piano intro leads to a recorder's "Magolor, the Far-Flung Traveler", which ends with the motif of "The Adventure Begins", revealing their innate similarities. Finally, harmonic G-flat (F-sharp) major returns with a last, nostalgic and triumphant "Four Adventurers: Cookie Country" (specifically as heard in "The Adventure Begins"), growing into a major flute "Road to Victory" as the group bids farewell to Landia and the Starcutter. The strings play a final perfect cadence in conclusion of the adventure.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]
In Kirby's Return to Dream Land and its remake, "Each to His Own World" plays during the cutscene with the same name. In Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, the first portion of this theme is used for "Hitting Rock Bottom", the opening cutscene of Magolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler, corresponding to Magolor's side of the story. This version is composed by Yuki Shimooka.[1]
Kirby Star Allies[edit]
In Kirby Star Allies, an arrangement of the first section of the theme titled 淵源を巡る回廊 (Hallway Back to Origin) plays in the rest area prior to the fight against Void Termina in Soul Melter EX.
