A common beast that can be found all over the new world. They're pretty cute, but they have a dangerous wild side. They'll growl and jump at anyone who crosses them! A whole bunch of these critters attacked the Waddle Dees. Funny, you'd think they'd get along!
— Figure description from Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Awoofy is an orange fox-like creature which makes its first appearance in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It is the most basic enemy in the game, and the most common member of the Beast Pack, and is seen chasing Waddle Dees so they can be captured by the pack's cage crows. Awoofy takes on the general shape of a fox with a large head, stubby limbs, and a long tail. While its main fur color is orange, its front paws, top of the head, tips of the ears, and tip of the tail are red, while its muzzle and underbelly are white. It has brown eyes similar in style to Kirby's. Though primarily quadrupedal, Awoofies can often be seen standing upright when looking around or holding still.

Awoofy's general behavior is to sit in place, patrol a given area, or sleep until Kirby gets close enough for it to spot him. When this happens, Awoofy responds by running after Kirby at a modest speed, aiming to hurt him by collision. Awoofy can be easily defeated with any method, and grants no Copy Ability if swallowed. Awoofies are worth one Star Coin when defeated. When sleeping, they are referred to as Napping Beasts.

Its name comes from "woof," the onomatopoeia for a dog's bark.
