Hi,
Hi,
I have started uploading the [[Kirby Squeak Squad]] [[Nature Notch]] PNG images. Recently, I have tried to upload the [[Nature Notch - Stage 5|stage 5]], [[Mrs. Moley|boss]], map, and [[Nature Notch - Stage EX|secret stage]] but I keep getting the same error message from them: "File extension ".jpg" does not match the detected MIME type of the file (image/png)."  I have done the exact same method to produce PNG images for the other stages, but for some reason these ones do not work. I checked the file types of the images and all of them are PNGs. Do you possibly know what this is? --[[User:BasicPerson|BasicPerson]] ([[User talk:BasicPerson|talk]]) 14:40, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

:So, what's going on is that you are trying to replace a JPG image with a PNG image, which the wiki does not like. What you will need to do in this case is upload your new file on its own and then mark the old one for deletion after you've replaced the links on the pages themselves. You can do this by typing <nowiki>{{delete|replaced}}</nowiki> on top of the file page summary. --[[User:Samwell|Samwell]] ([[User talk:Samwell|talk]]) 14:41, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

"Game Apperances" or "Game apperances"

Hi Samwell, while I was editing some character pages, I noticed this inconsistency. Which one should we use? Same for "Physical (A/a)ppearance. Superbound (talk) 13:20, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

Hello. Generally speaking, you should only capitalize the first letter for section titles. Same rules apply as for regular sentences. As such, use "Game appearances". --Samwell (talk) 13:25, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
Alright, thanks a lot! Superbound (talk) 13:26, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

Several questions

Hi, I would like to ask you a few questions (I actually have more, but I'll ask them latter):

  1. I saw that there's special licensing for Dedede Directory posts ( {{artwork|Dedede Directory}} if I'm not mistaken). As I'm currently working on a draft, can Channel PPP posts get it to?
  2. If subject the article is talking about has a different name in diffrent languages (Staff-Stick, Kirby Star Allies-Kirby Star Arise) should the names become redirect? Or are there some rules of language redirects?
  3. Why most of the notice templates are yellow?
  4. On Template:FA/doc I saw that President Haltmann is going to appear on August 23 instead of King Dedede. Did I miss some changes in queue system?

That's all for now. Superbound (talk) 18:16, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

Greetings. Let me answer your questions as succinctly as I can:
  1. Technically speaking, the Dedede Directory posts do not have their own special copyright template, as their button adds the Artwork template, and is just here as a special mention. We could do the same thing for Channel PPP posts, but I would ask YFJ about that, since he looked over that particular reform.
  2. Generally speaking, we do not use different language redirects on WiKirby. Special exceptions are made only when the different-language name is commonly used in the English fanbase.
  3. Just a traditional carry-over from the old days of the site. That, and the yellow stands out.
  4. I was not under the impression that King Dedede was meant to come next. I assumed I could place any featured article up next in the queue. If this is not true, please show me where the extended queue is.
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions. --Samwell (talk) 18:24, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
  1. Ok
  2. Ok
  3. Ok (I mainly asked this question because I'm more used to color variety for templates on Super Mario Wiki and SmashWiki)
  4. Queue is decided by order of featurement, but you can ask YFJ for more details. While no official list exists, I track it on my userpage.

Files sourcing

Hi, can you tell me the sources of following files?:

  • File:Haltmann.jpg
  • File:Haltmann Boss.jpg
  • File:President Haltmann 2 0.jpg
  • File:Haltmann Fight 1.jpg
  • File:Haltmann Portrait.jpg
  • File:Haltmann Fight 3.jpg
  • File:Haltmann Fight 4.jpg‎
  • File:Haltmann Fight 2.jpg

(I plan on adding {{aboutfile}} on more images, so I will probably ask these kind of question in future too) Superbound (talk) 12:35, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

For a lot of those older screenshots, I went around and collected them from various YouTube longplays, and I would be hard-pressed to remember which specific videos I used. Instead of focusing on finding the sources, I would try to get them replaced with cleaner versions instead. --Samwell (talk) 12:37, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, I understand. Superbound (talk) 12:48, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

Happy Birthday, Samwell!

Thanks, m80. I was actually trying to remember if we had this image on the site or not. :P --Samwell (talk) 14:07, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

Regarding Samus

Hello Samwell, if you haven't seen my edit summary, the reason I added Samus link was that other characters (specifically Donbe & Hikari and Chao), which had similar role in Kirby's Dream Land 3 already have pages. Unless you think that these pages are also not notable, I see no reason not to keep that link. Superbound (talk) 09:37, 28 December 2020 (UTC)

To me, it's more a matter of whether or not the subject matter is the domain of a more suitable wiki in NIWA. Donbe & Hikari and Chao don't really have much of a place on other NIWA wikis (aside from perhaps N Wiki but I'm pretty sure they are not there). For that reason, it makes more sense to me to link to MetroidWiki's article on Samus than to try and make one ourselves. --Samwell (talk) 15:37, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
That said, I should also preface that there are still some lingering traditions from the older days of the wiki that muddy things a little. For instance, we have a fair amount of content that specifically pertains to the Super Smash Bros. games, mainly since back when WiKirby was founded, there was a much stronger correlation between the Smash games and the Kirby games than there is today. There were also a few half-hearted attempts to make pages for Mario, Luigi, and others that I deleted due to them being extremely short stubs. I suppose ultimately the point I want to get across is this. We are primarily a Kirby wiki, but if you really want to make a page about another series character or subject that has some distant connection, through a cameo or other relation, then you should put in the effort to make the article and make it worth reading before you start adding links to it here. Also, be sure to have a look at this policy page for details on how to cover it. --Samwell (talk) 15:45, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
I see, I get your point here. To make sure that I understanded you correctly - is it okay if I start a draft for these characters pages in my sandbox? And for now, would it be also okay if I create (temporary) redirects to Cameo characters#Kirby's Dream Land 3? Superbound (talk) 12:56, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
In the specific case of Samus, I'm not sure it would make tons of sense to redirect users to the cameo list for Kirby's Dream Land 3 in the context that part of the article was using. However, feel free to start drafting articles in your sandbox. --Samwell (talk) 13:10, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
Oki, I'm going to start it soon enough. Superbound (talk) 13:15, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

Reverting Edits

Hello Sam.

I noticed that two reverts done by you were full reverts. These include undoing everything the user did in the previous revision(s). This is useful in stopping vandalism and to fix mistakes that users have put in, however, pure reverting, like you did in both revisions, can actually add in mistakes that the user could've actually removed or fixed, suck as the grammar mistake in the latter. I didn't know there was a no-life system in Kirby's Blowout Blast, but I think the wording I put in was otherwise better. Regardless, the next time you revert an edit, look at the change and think, should I just undo it or should I rewrite it back to avoid adding back the mistake?

BTW it's your birthday in 11 days? I will wish you a happy birthday then.

Altendo 07:49, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Greetings, Altendo.
I apologize in advance if you feel that the reverts done to your edits had overreached a bit. Please be assured that it was not my intention to fully revert every change you'd made, and that I don't usually make that mistake. However, I would have liked much better if you'd come to me sooner about this, and with a less patronizing tone. The reverts in questions, after all, happened on the 22nd of July (over 2 weeks ago), and only in the case of the Magolor page was a minor formatting mistake added back in in the process; one that, as I'm sure you know, was easily removed again. In the case of Kirby's Blowout Blast, I stand by my original statement that the original wording was better, and that revert was fully intentional.
One of the most important tenets of wiki editing, and collaborative projects in general, is to assume good faith until it's obvious there is none. I'd like you to keep this in mind going forward, because it really does feel like this message you've sent me is an attack, rather than an honest concern (especially given how long you sat on the issue, and how minor the actual reverts were). I'm not out to get you, even if I revert your edits, or offer you criticism on your talk page. We're all in this together to make WiKirby the best it can be.
Cheers. --Samwell (talk) 13:41, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
I'm sorry if you felt like what I sent you was an attack. I was only notifying you of mistakes that you put back in after I removed them. Just look out for that next time. Thanks! Altendo 14:29, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Problem With Uploading Files

Hi, I have started uploading the Kirby Squeak Squad Nature Notch PNG images. Recently, I have tried to upload the stage 5, boss, map, and secret stage but I keep getting the same error message from them: "File extension ".jpg" does not match the detected MIME type of the file (image/png)." I have done the exact same method to produce PNG images for the other stages, but for some reason these ones do not work. I checked the file types of the images and all of them are PNGs. Do you possibly know what this is? --BasicPerson (talk) 14:40, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

So, what's going on is that you are trying to replace a JPG image with a PNG image, which the wiki does not like. What you will need to do in this case is upload your new file on its own and then mark the old one for deletion after you've replaced the links on the pages themselves. You can do this by typing {{delete|replaced}} on top of the file page summary. --Samwell (talk) 14:41, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

e-mail for password reset

Did you send the e-mail to *REDACTED*? 2600:1700:DD0:1480:7D81:CF:E202:EDA5 01:08, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

I have looked into it, the account in question has already been used before, and i'm NOT that vandal who used that name, is it ok if i change the username instead? 2600:1700:DD0:1480:7D81:CF:E202:EDA5 01:43, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

In that case, you should just request a new account entirely, since the one you are currently using has no history or contributions. Also, please take care not to publicly post emails in talk pages. I'm sure this case isn't too big a deal, but it's not something you should generally do. --Samwell (talk) 02:19, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

Ok thank you so much buddy, I know there's a thing against having multiple accounts that's why I had asked if that was ok for a new account request. It does actually explain that the password was coming up as wrong. 2600:1700:DD0:1480:459:F172:A27A:BC60 12:25, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

A thankyou note from 2600:1700:DD0:1480:459:F172:A27A:BC60

Hi Samwell, I wanted to thank you for your help from the other day, my first choice of username actually was just random chance as I call it. I have learned in life that there are no coincidental circumstances due to me having medications to help a little mental disability that I'd rather keep private for now, and so I call them random chances in life instead (an IRL style of RNG) so... Thank you so much for the help, I'll try to be the best I can be for my job as a user for the site. As I always say for my channel on YouTube as a closure, live long and prosper buddy! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dehumanizer1998 (talkcontribs) . How to make a sandbox?

Hi samwell! I am sorta new here, and i am just here asking, how do you make a personal sandbox page? Thanks a lot, —SpeedOfKirb38000 (talk) 13:55, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

Hello! I'm not Samwell, but all you need to do to create a sandbox is by following this link: User:SpeedOfKirb38000/Sandbox. Then you can put whatever you like in there as long as it follows our rules, though it would be good if you could try editing some more mainspace articiles if you know how to do that. -- Jellytost (talk) 14:14, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
Thats exactly what im trying to do! Im testing adding a glitch i found in Kirby and The Amazing Mirror and im testing a area for it, thanks for the help! SpeedOfKirb38000 (talk) 14:24, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
Alrighty! Oh and, I was wondering. Do you use Discord? We have a server where you can reach us staff members more quickly and communicate with other Kirby fans. Would you be interested in that? -- Jellytost (talk) 14:27, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
Sorry, i dont, i tryed to use it once but my wifi just lagged out so i cant get is SpeedOfKirb38000 (talk) 15:24, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
That's okay! Thanks for being interested in the wiki still. Feel free to message me, Samwell, or another staff member on our talk pages if you need anything. -- Jellytost (talk) 15:31, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

An issue with a FP nomination I made

Hi, Sam. I've made an occasional picture nomination but it seems to have flown under the radar. There's also an issue User:MetaDragon brought up, and that is that it's not marked as Good, which is something that I forgot is a requirement. That considered, I thought what restricts me from marking it Good right away, because I see no issues with the image. At the standard featured picture thumb-size of 300px it looks high-quality enough to feature it. In comparison, this one was and ended up being featured. Admitedly, you abstained and I voted for it, and it's lower in quality than the one I'm trying to feature for Easter. So if you don't object, I'd like to mark it as good and invite you to vote on it regardless of decision. –Wiz (talk · edits) 10:41, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

I hadn't marked it as Good because it was not the proper resolution. I've gone ahead and uploaded a new version that fits the guidelines, so now it should be good for featuring. --Samwell (talk) 18:55, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

❤ Happy Second, Sam! ❤

Thank you so much for everything so far. I'm so happy to have met you. -- Jellytost (talk) 04:23, 7 July 2022 (UTC)

Hiding an IP

Hello, I'm not sure the best place to ask this nor who would be best to ask, but I wanted to know if it would be possible to hide an IP on an edit that I made recently. I was making an edit and left it for the next day, which resulted in me being logged out for being inactive for so long and causing the edit to go through as an IP. Under normal circumstances I'd just brush it off and not care, but since the edit contains a link that points to another account of mine I'd prefer if people couldn't see the IP and associate it with me. CanvasK (talk) 23:53, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

I could manually hide the edit in question, though that will probably require me to resubmit the edit myself. Which edit is this? --Samwell (talk) 00:35, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
I thought hiding the IP on that specific edit would be possible, I think I've seen it happen on ssbwiki before (namely for vulgar/personal attack names). Regardless of how it happens, it is the most recent edit on Glitches in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. CanvasK (talk) 00:40, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
Alright, I've gone ahead and hidden the username on that edit. I actually have never had to do that before, so it was a bit of a learning experience for me. :P --Samwell (talk) 00:43, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
Thanks! I've ticked the "stay logged in" box now so hopefully this is the only time I need to ask this. I imagine you'll rarely have to use that feature since you all require usernames to be requested and troublesome ones will get handled then. Hope you have a nice day. CanvasK (talk) 00:49, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
Aye, glad to be of help. I will also mention that, since you've had your account for a while, you really only need to make one more edit before you don't need to go through moderation anymore. It could be as simple as fixing a spelling or grammar error. :P --Samwell (talk) 00:52, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

Hi its me again

Hi so i didn't get a conformation email and its not in my spam folder is there anywhere else I can find it? I hope you see this!-Kirbyiscool120

Okay, so I can see your account on hold in the system, as well as the associated email. What I'd like you to do is come onto Discord and send me a private message so we can manually confirm that the email listed there is the one you want associated with the account. Once you've logged onto Discord and joined our server, go ahead and send me a private message and I'll get back to you when I can. --Samwell (talk) 18:47, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

Is this how you get a name change, by posting on a bureaucrat's talk page?

I decided to change my username from "Kirby Air Ride" to "Yoshi's Island" but I felt like I'm too new of an user to request name changes yet so this will be denied and I also am not sure how to request one.

Kirby Air Ride (talk) 21:45, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

Well, you happened to come to the right place and to the right person. It's not that big a deal for me to change your name. That said, I should ask if you are sure before we proceed. --Samwell (talk) 22:14, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

Yes, I am sure. Thank you. Kirby Air Ride (talk) 22:35, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

Why my edits have been this way

On the Kirby's Dream Buffet page, it said "A physical version released in South Korea on September 15th, 2022, but like with Kirby Fighters 2, it is not a cartridge but simply a download code inside a box." and i thought that it's inaccurate to say a physical edition exists if it's not a cartridge.

Other edits I figured the info isn't notable enough (such as the first game to have blue and green Kirby as selectable colors) and for the Colors page in the Kirby 64 section, I thought there's no need to say "This can also be done for the other playable characters in the group" when you cxould just completely reword it.

Also, would it be ok to have images in your signature?

Yoshi's Island (talk) 19:00, 29 September 2022 (UTC)

I'm not Samwell, but I can answer for him. For the first part, it's not inaccurate to call that a physical version since it still comes in a physical box; that's why it's phrased that way. For the second part, I personally agree that the new wording is better. For your last question, you can include images in your signature as long as they're small and unintrusive. 20 pixels tall should be your maximum. StarPunch (talk) 23:38, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
We've actually had a failed proposal on images in custom signatures, but that was over two years ago. This could be reconsidered, of course. –Wiz (talk · edits) 08:55, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

Question from MarioKirbyGamer

Can you vote yourself for things (e.g. editor-in-chief)? User:MarioKirbyGamer

Hello. To answer, only Administrators+ may be considered for the Editor-in-Chief position. Generally speaking, advancement in rank on WiKirby requires the approval of existing staff members, and asking for "promotion" is generally discouraged. Also, when you ask a new question on talk pages, please create a new section at the bottom of the page and sign it using four tildes (~~~~). --Samwell (talk) 18:17, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Another question from MarioKirbyGamer

For the wiki on cart , wouldn't Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards be part of it, because in some levels kirby rides a cart, and needs to jump over obstacles, just curious about if there was a reason for that. MarioKirbyGamer (talk) 20:17, 2 December 2022 (UTC)MarioKirbyGamer

The Cart page is specifically about the object as it appears in Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra, not mine carts in general. Information about the mine cart rides in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards can be found in the appropriate stage pages. In future, it might be better to ask questions about specific articles in their talk pages, rather than coming to my page specifically. My talk page is more for asking general questions about the wiki, not specific articles. --Samwell (talk) 20:22, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

"Please do not edit their talk page because they won't notice it."

I actually still receive email notifications for edits to my talk page and respond there (I got an email when that notice was added, lol). Inactive notice is fine but I still want people to feel free to ask questions about old site things etc. that I might know, so maybe something could be done with the second part of the notice - Rephrase? Remove? Made changeable via template parameter?--Vellidragon (talk) 00:00, 3 January 2023 (UTC)

Eh, fair enough. I'll change the notice to something a little less presumptuous. Kinda figured you'd get pinged when I put it on there anyhow. :P --Samwell (talk) 00:04, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
Btw Fernandez0907 has been stalking and harassing me and others across multiple websites for literal months. They don't listen to requests to stop and have had action taken against them in other places. I don't know if it's enough to justify it but I would honestly just recommend perma-banning them.--Vellidragon (talk) 18:02, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
I have already blocked him for two weeks for the attempt, and expressly forbade him do it again. If he does, or if he otherwise acts out of line, he'll be gone permanently. --Samwell (talk) 00:38, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

How does the wiki get images of boxarts?

I tried uploading the Chinese Kirby Star Allies boxart having taken the image from Wikipedia (because I recently purchased the game in Taiwan) and the image couldn't be uploaded. How would you go about doing this?

Yoshi's Island 11:58, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

Well, there shouldn't be an issue uploading it since it's a jpg image. You'll have to tell me more specifically what went wrong. I can see from your contribs page that you have not uploaded files to WiKirby before. We do have help pages about uploading files here and here. Let me know if you have any more questions. --Samwell (talk) 12:49, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Hello. I always try saving it as an image on my ipad but it always says "permitted file types are... and gives me a list.
Yoshi's Island 13:23, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Well, I'm not sure what to tell you then, since it seems to be more a problem with your device than with the wiki. Strange that your device would not be able to save a jpg of all things. Perhaps you could try using a different one, like a home computer? --Samwell (talk) 13:28, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

How do I change my signature to have different fonts or colors

can an admin help me with this please?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Supergamer286 (talkcontribs) . Please always sign your comments by typing ~~~~!

I can give you some pointers, but I feel compelled to remind you that you need to sign your talk page posts. Otherwise, how would anyone even see your signature? So, what you'd want to do in this case is make a subpage for your user page (in this case, "User:Supergamer286/sig"). Then, I would suggest copy/pasting the code from someone else's signature and modifying it to make yours. Just remember not to accidentally change the signature of the person you are copying from. If you need more help, let me know here. --Samwell (talk) 18:06, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
samwell, so how do i make a subpage? can u help? supergamer286 (talk) 18:34, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
Same way you made your userpage. Just create the page "User:Supergamer286/sig", and you should be good to get started. --Samwell (talk) 18:36, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
and one more thing, do i make the subpage by pressing the + button when im on my userpage's discussion page? because the + button is not available on my main page. supergamer286 (talk) 23:05, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Supergamer286
No, that just starts a new section on your userpage. I should ask before we continue, though, because this is important. When is your birthday, and how old are you right now? --Samwell (talk) 23:06, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

sorry but im not comfortable with sharing my age. my birthday is 2/27 tho.supergamer286 (talk) 23:19, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Supergamer286

I promise you this is not an attempt to identify your personal information. However, WiKirby requires that users give out their age when asked. I'm not asking for your name, address, or anything like that. If you can't give out your age, then I will need to remove you from the wiki. It's the rules. --Samwell (talk) 23:21, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

Alright. Thank you for being honest with me. You probably didn't see that WiKirby doesn't allow users under 13 to have an account on WiKirby. That means I do unfortunately need to block your account until you are old enough to use it. I will keep your userpage as it is until your 13th birthday, when you will be allowed back. See you then, and sorry for the trouble. --Samwell (talk) 23:31, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
To be clear, we have to ask for your age because of laws in the United States that mean we can't collect info from users under 13. The wiki collects info about your device and your account, so you need to be 13 or older to use it. You didn't do anything wrong, though — we're just following the law. Admin talk

I have been wanting to become an Admin on WiKirby, and I'm trying to help out the best I can. Are there any specific things that I have to do before you consider me becoming an admin? IsaacBoi321 (talk) 01:48, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

Well, I find your upfrontness to be a little unusual, but I suppose I can answer as succinctly as I can:
Admins on WiKirby tend to be individuals with a long history of contributions and community engagement. Typically it takes years of climbing through the ranks slowly to gain admin status, and by then, most people in the community should know who you are and what you've done for the wiki. Our admins typically have edit counts in the thousands, are well-versed in wiki policy, and have taken part in numerous site decisions, proposals, and other votes.
You have only been here for just a little under a week, and are still very much considered a new editor. So if you were hoping to become an admin any time soon, I'm afraid I have to disappoint you. However, stick around, make good edits, learn the ropes, and get involved with the community, and eventually you might just end up there. Let me just be clear with you, however, that if your main aim is to become an admin, rather than helping the wiki or its community, than you should reconsider your motivations. We don't take kindly to people just looking to gain fame or influence.
One more thing. Always remember to sign your talk page posts with your username. (use four tildes: ~~~~). Do the same whenever you vote on anything. See you around the wiki. Let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers. --Samwell (talk) 01:35, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for the info. My main goal on WiKirby is to make this a better place, where people can come here and find reliable sources on all things Kirby. The games I know most info on is The NS kirby games, (KSA, KDB, KF2, SKC, and KatFL) So I try to put more info on that. I do have another question though, and that is about uploading. If you remember, before I tried to put an image of plasma kirby on the wiki, But I wasn't autoconfirmed. But now I'm autoconfirmed, and I tried to Upload the image. But it was a jpeg, so I used a jpeg to jpg website, and uploaded it, but it still said it was a jpeg! I really want to focus on adding images from the more recent games, as the image on Plasma is from KSSU. If you guys could make it so that jpegs can be uploaded, that would be helpful. Otherwise, I won't be able to upload the images that I need. --IsaacBoi321 (talk) 01:48, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
So, in this case, the converter you used probably didn't actually change the file, just its extension name. When you do that, a mismatch happens between the extension and how it's defined internally, and the wiki goes by how it's defined internally. What you want to do instead is open your image in an image editing program like Paint, Photoshop, or Paint.NET and resave it as a jpg file. As for the file itself, please be aware of any relevant image standards for it, or if the file in question already exists somewhere on the wiki. If this is a piece of artwork, you'll want to make sure it has a valid source. Any unsourced or improperly sourced image will be removed. Please note that the Kirby Wiki on Fandom is not a proper source. Let me know if you have any other issues. --Samwell (talk) 01:55, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
The file you deleted, I actually didn't crop anything. I just searched up "Plasma Kirby" on google, selected the KSA image, and used an image editor to convert to jpg! --IsaacBoi321 (talk) 02:30, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
I see, well, that's a bit of an issue on its own. See, on WiKirby, we need to be sure of where exactly an image comes from, and Google search doesn't exactly tell you that info. The way you specified on the file page suggested that you took the screenshot yourself, which would have been a false attribution if you just got it from Google. Any rate, either way, the artwork did not match the game's native resolution, so it wouldn't have been suitable regardless. I am right now working on capturing a new version that does meet the standards. You'll see it appear on the wiki in just a bit. Please take this as a learning experience. --Samwell (talk) 02:34, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
I understand. So whenever I upload an image, I specify where it comes from. I will try my best to do this and I will work on making this wiki a better place! :) --IsaacBoi321 (talk) 16:13, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
Aye. Also, if it's a screenshot of a game, be wary of the resolution the image was taken at. Full screenshots from Switch games should always be 720p or 1080p. You'll often find that screenshots posted to Twitter or other sites by fans tend to be lower than this. --Samwell (talk) 16:16, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
