Unused image help

Hi Fubaka. I am asking you this because on recent changes you are pretty much the only even semi-active user. Is there any variant of the delete tag to show that a discussion isn't necessary. Similar to a speedy delete tag on SmashWiki. Thanks. DekZek (talk) 04:24, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

I came here when the site was basically dead, so I do not know what the official policy is. I suspect you will want to contact an administrator if you want the images deleted. Fubaka (talk) 05:43, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. I just checked, and the admins get emails when you edit their talk pages. I will contact them when I can't do anything else until they do their part. FYI, you can indent conversations with a colon :. This wiki, as far as I am aware, has always been dead. If you want a wiki after you finish this task, feel free to go to my main wiki, SmashWiki. I use the same username there if you need to contact me. DekZek (talk) 14:52, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
Actually, I already have an account at SmashWiki, under the same username. I'd jumped from there to here when I realized how unfinished this wiki was. As such, it has been my continuing task to fill out these pages. You may have noticed already, but there is still a lot of work to do. Fubaka (talk) 17:45, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

Okay. On a semi-related note, can you create a user subpage for all of the images you are going to use, so that they don't appear in unused images? I can't really distinguish them from other images easily, so this would help a lot with my efforts. Thanks. DekZek (talk) 22:04, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

I'll see what I can do. Fubaka (talk) 00:06, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello

Hello, This is T.c.w7468, a patroller for this wiki. You may not recognise me because I have regretfully been massively inactive for the last few years due to life changes, and I was just checking back on the wiki today. I have noticed your concern about Zombienom's edits, and appreciate you trying to let us know about it. I do not have page removal powers (I am only of patroller rank), but I will fix what damage I can and let Vellidragon know through other means about this situation, and have given Zombienom a remider of the quality guidelines of this wiki.

Thank you for keeping this wiki alive, and cheers T.c.w7468 02:12, 17 January 2016 (UTC) *edited 02:27, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

No problem. I've seen fit to make quite a few editions to this wiki myself during my time here. Most of the Triple Deluxe content was added by me, and I am still in the process of filling it in. I am also currently trying to make a full level synopsis of Amazing Mirror. If you have time, I'd appreciate some help on that. -Fubaka (talk) 03:27, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
I've noticed! You seem to have added a lot to this wiki, in particular I've noticed that you have finished what I started four years ago on information from Kirby's Return to Dream Land. I would like to help you in my free time, but I don't actually have Triple Deluxe or Amazing Mirror, and I am currently in a foreign country as an exchange student so I don't have access to the Kirby games I do have atm, so I can't offer as much in terms of content. However, I am willing to help in other ways, and again thanks for your passion and great contributions!T.c.w7468 04:33, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

Patroller

Hallo!

Given your history of good contributions and dedication (which Tacopill has also pointed out to me) and in light of the wiki's relative shortage of active staff to monitor site activity, I'm asking if you would like to be promoted to Patroller on the wiki.

Patrollers are able to mark edits as "patrolled" (patrolled edits can be filtered out in the recent changes view) and quickly rollback changes to revert malicious activity. As Patroller, you would be part of the wiki staff and be better able to help moderate/review what's going on around the site.

Please let me know what you think!--Vellidragon (talk) 19:53, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

It would be an honor. I intend to continue contributing wherever I can. My sights are currently set on any new info regarding Blowout Blast. :) --Fubaka (talk) 20:14, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
Awesome! :) Welcome aboard! --Vellidragon (talk) 03:25, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

Help

Hi, I uploaded an image and it looks terrible can you revert it back?

HHegg (talk) 19:27, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

Done. --Fubaka (talk) 0:39, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Whoops

Guess I got the Kirby games mixed up with the images. Would you mind terribly if the images were renamed from "Star Allies" to "Battle Royale" in the titles, and the image redirects deleted? Alex95 (talk) 17:53, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Do what you need to to save the realm fix the images. --Fubaka (talk) 17:57, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
Okay, I fixed what I could. My intention was to have an admin move the pages without leaving a redirect behind, but I marked the redirects for deletion anyway. Sorry for the extra work :P Alex95 (talk) 18:42, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Admin

Alright, let's do this publicly then. :P You've been recommended for admin by User:Tacopill and it seems you've been super active and keeping an eye out for things needing admin intervention, so I'll be giving you admin rights.

Since WiKirby has generally been very light on staff (and not all that active), there aren't many formalities or long-term obligations that come with it, you'll just be able to take care of spam accounts and the like by yourself. For larger decisions or if you're not sure about something, I'd say contact me and we'll work it out together. You can also ask Taco to pass things on to me, and Moydow can probably help as well.

Oh yeah, you should also be able to edit protected things on the main page and whatnot, so if something comes up that needs an edit there, you'll be able to do it.

Thanks for your help! :) Here's a super helpful link list, by the way, if you weren't aware of it yet. It really helped me when I was more active doing things here. Oh, and if you don't want to do this anymore, let me know at any time and I can revert your rights or whatever you'd like me to do. It's all voluntary here. :) --Vellidragon (talk) 03:50, 9 January 2018 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch! I promise not to send the wiki down in flames. :P --Fubaka (talk) 04:36, 9 January 2018 (UTC)

about kirby & the amazing mirror

Looks like the game my brother gave to me was a us english version 1 before nintendo changed how kirby's slide attack works on large enemies. presumbly a bug?

If that's so, I'd like if you could get some video demonstrating what you said. If you can't get it yourself, try seeking out another source. Otherwise, it might just be best to move on. --Fubaka (talk) 02:10, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

Discord

Hey, just to let you know that the "T.c.w7468" that has just showed up on the Discord channel is in fact me (proof of identity). T.c.w7468 03:08, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

Aye, thanks for letting me know. It's good to have another admin on board. Let me know if you have any questions about Discord-related things. --Fubaka (talk) 08:17, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

Main page italics error

Can you fix the italics error in the “Editor's Picks” section of the main page? I can’t edit it because it is protected. Thanks in advance! -YoshiFlutterJump (talk) 00:49, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

All done. By the way, feel free to nominate another article that you would like featured. Kirby's Dream Land 2 has been it for so long mainly because nobody else has stepped up to approve a new page yet. --Fubaka (talk) 03:35, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

How do I put pictures in articles?

I do not know if the image size needs to be square to be able to put in an article, is it necessary to be .jpg or .png? Sorry if I'm bothering you. Kirby Master (talk) 14:44, 21 April 2018 (UTC)

Looks like you figured it out. Yeah, most picture formats are accepted, but we usually do jpgs and pngs. The picture also does not need to be square. Let me know if you have any other questions. --Fubaka (talk) 16:39, 21 April 2018 (UTC)

City Trial feature nomination

Hey, just wanted to let you know that it seems your FA nomination for City Trial passed a couple weeks ago. I think the current FA on the main page can be changed now. -YFJ (talk · edits) 05:10, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Aye, thanks for reminding me. Will do that. Feel free to pick the next nomination if you'd like. --Fubaka (talk) 05:14, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Also, while I'm here, I thought I might as well mention that in the "did you know" section of the main page, it mentions the Guest Star Kirby glitch in Star Allies. However, this glitch cannot be used in the latest version of the game (3.0.0). Maybe it could mention that it only works in earlier versions of the game? Or should it be removed entirely? -YFJ (talk · edits) 20:18, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

Well it is still technically accurate, even if you need to use an older version of the game to do it. I think it's fine as is. --Fubaka (talk) 23:18, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
Okay, thanks! -YFJ (talk · edits) 03:54, 24 October 2018 (UTC)

Interwiki links

Hello Fubaka, I noticed the starfywiki interwiki links are broken. They currently link to starfywiki.org/(article). In the past this worked but in order for them to work they must now be structured starfywiki.org/wiki/(article) (unlike various instances which do not use /wiki/, namely Icaruspedia, Super Mario Wiki, Pikipedia, Pikmin Fanon Wiki, Smash Wiki) I took a look at the other NIWA interwiki links and there seem to be a few more problematic cases, namely:

There are a few other cases which work fine, but may still want changing:

  • It looks like Fire Emblem interwiki link is currently structured the same (no /wiki/). Unlike the Starfy Wiki example Fire Emblem wiki pages seem to work fine without /wiki/, but I feel it might be something to update for consistency.
  • Lylatwiki is another case of this. The link is currently http://starfoxwiki.info/$1 but most places on the site use /wiki/
  • Nwiki uses http://niwanetwork.org/wiki/index.php/$1 but may not need the /index.php/
  • Zeldawiki uses http://zeldawiki.org/$1 but after the move to Gamepedia, you may want to change it to https://zelda.gamepedia.com/$1 to avoid the redirect, and in case it eventually stops working.

Wondering if you could look into fixing these please? Many thanks :) --Chickasaurus (talk) 19:43, 3 November 2018 (UTC)

Aye, I will fix this later when I have time to (which will likely be tomorrow). --Fubaka (talk) 23:24, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
Thanks! --Chickasaurus (talk) 03:55, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
I have adjusted the interwiki links. Let me know if there are any additional problems. --Fubaka (talk) 21:36, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
It seems like all the pages that contained those need to be "refreshed" in order for the Interwiki-prefix(es) change the URLs according to the new settings. Mr. Star's one, for example, just were linking to the same URL as before (according to the old settings), until I saved the article without doing any edit. --Viperision (talk) 23:28, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
Clearing cache or making a blank, or previewing a revision should do the trick otherwise too. --Raltseye prata med mej 01:21, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

Parallel Bosses

So I see some parallel bosses articles (e.g. Parallel Meta Knight, Parallel Twin Kracko) are now merged into their normal counterparts. I don't see the reason considering they are separate beings.--FalcoLau (talk) 19:21, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Merge them if you like. I just figured it would be a decent idea to have separate pages for entities that are not the same character as the original. --Fubaka (talk) 01:01, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

Your edits don't have to be large in scope, simple things like fixing typos or adding trivia are fine. Just make sure what you write hasn't already been mentioned on the page. --Fubaka (talk) 16:43, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

On the left, under Toolbox, you will find a link called 'Upload a file'. You can upload an image up to 5 MB to the site. If this is for your userpage, keep in mind that you are only allowed three personal images. --Fubaka (talk) 08:29, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Fixing links

Hi, would you mind using Special:ReplaceText to fix any transclusions of Template:KSwitch to Template:KirbySA? Thanks! Toadette the Achiever (talk) 14:03, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

Heroes in Another Dimension

Hi Fubaka, I'm kind of new to this whole wiki thing, and you seem like you do this pretty frequently, so I may be coming to you with a lot of questions. (By the way, thanks for the explanation on seeing my user name in an article.) I noticed that you had deleted my note about the Kirby's Dream Land palette swap Easter egg upon getting all 120 hearts in Heroes in Another Dimension. Was it moved somewhere else or did I mess up the unlock criteria? Uncle Steve (talk) 20:11, 9 April 2019 (UTC)

Indeed. You don't get that palette swap for completing Heroes in Another Dimension. You get it for beating The Ultimate Choice on Soul Melter EX. --Fubaka (talk) 21:02, 9 April 2019 (UTC)

I Love You, Fubaka!

I just really love you! Can we be friends together? AwsomeKirbyStarAllies (talk) 19:08, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

Maybe, though you are not the first person on this wiki to be aiming for my affection. Do you have Discord? If so, you should consider joining us on the WiKirby Discord server. You can chat with us in real time there, and meet the whole gang. --Fubaka (talk) 19:43, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

Temporarily Blocked

Hello, earlier I was attempting to edit the Black Mirror page and it said that I was blocked due to having the same IP address as AwesomeKirbyStatAllies (which doesn't make sense because I was using mobile data), and I checked the block list and it said I wasn't blocked but I am still unable to edit any pages. -JRJ007 13:36, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

I have now been unblocked, so never mind. JRJ007 15:17, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

Kirby Super Star Ultra

Hey, just wanted to let you know that your feature nomination for Kirby Super Star Ultra passed a couple weeks ago, so I believe it's time to update the featured article on the main page. Thanks! -YFJ (talk · edits) 19:48, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

Aye. Thanks for reminding me. I will adjust things shortly. --Fubaka (talk) 19:07, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Enemy counts

Do you think enemy counts would be necessary to add to stage articles? Cappy KCC artwork 2.png Obsessive Mario Fan KSS Mario Statue sprite.png 19:03, 6 September 2019 (UTC)

No, that seems redundant to me. It would put a lot more work on our shoulders as well for not much benefit to the reader. --Fubaka (talk) 19:08, 6 September 2019 (UTC)

Re: Patroller

Yes, I would like to be a patroller! Cappy KCC artwork 2.png Obsessive Mario Fan KSS Mario Statue sprite.png 13:05, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

Then a Patroller you shall be! I'll update the rankings right away. Let me know if you have any questions about the position. Cheers! --Fubaka (talk) 18:18, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

About the Patroller stuff on my talk page

Sure. I'd want to be a patroller. – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 17:02, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

Aye, check your talk page, for I have responded there. --Fubaka (talk) 18:18, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

Signatures in the wikitext

Whenever I sign my comments, the raw code for my signature shows in the wikitext (although it looks as intended on the page itself), instead of {{User:Obsessive Mario Fan/sig}}. Do you think there is a way to fix this by changing it in my preferences (which I tried), or changing the way signatures are programmed on the wiki?

I suspect you will want to make a template that contains those things which will be applied when you use your signature. I am not entirely clear on how this would work, but you could talk to Results May Vary about it. --Fubaka (talk) 20:37, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

Re:Hold, up, pard!

Sorry, about the mislabeling, I haven't played Star Allies yet. I almost mistook Artist for Paint, but luckily found out in time. I checked that the images were not already there, as I saw some were and didn't add them. However, not all of the images were in all of their proper places (I mainly checked the gallery and the subjects' articles). Cappy KCC artwork 2.png Obsessive Mario Fan KSS Mario Statue sprite.png 21:03, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

Aye, some of the images, like the Fire&Sword and the Festival picture we did already have. It would be useful to make those images easier to find, though. I will go ahead and delete the ones that are duplicates.
Also, one other thing. If I start a conversation on your talk page, it should stay there. You don't need to come to my talk page to continue the discussion. --Fubaka (talk) 21:07, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
"Re:" messages are used on the MarioWiki, so I thought they were used here, too. Sorry about that, I will keep it on my talk page. Also, the Fire&Sword image is a transparent png version of an already-existing image. I tried to upload it as a new version, but I wasn't allowed to change the file extension from jpg to png. Cappy KCC artwork 2.png Obsessive Mario Fan KSS Mario Statue sprite.png 21:12, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
We have a larger transparent image of Fire&Sword on the Power Effect page. --Fubaka (talk) 21:13, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

Questions about images & fleshing out Rainbow Curse pages

Hello, I'm new here (trying to get settled before the cross-wiki weekend), and I wanted to help flesh out some of the Rainbow Curse pages like Green Valley, but I wasn't sure what all was needed. Is there a page that is complete that I can reference? Either for this game or another game? Or do you know what the page needs to be considered complete?

I also noticed that there aren't many gameplay screenshots on the wiki, or that if they appear in the articles they are relatively small and they generally don't appear in galleries. Is this intentional? I was planning on sourcing screenshots from the Miiverse archive for the Rainbow Curse pages but I wasn't sure if this was appropriate or if they needed to be cropped/edited first. Thanks for your help/guidance. Sunmarsh (talk) 19:19, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

Greetings. I'm glad you came to me before attempting any of those pages. It was my plan in my quest to sweep through content regarding every game in the series to get to Rainbow Curse eventually (as I have recently acquired the game myself), but if you want to get a headstart, here is the current plan.
If you look at some of the recently renovated level pages (such as Vegetable Valley, Red Canyon, or Cloudy Park), you will find the sort of structure that I had planned to use for the Rainbow Curse levels once I got to them. As it stands, these pages are not meant to fully cover each stage and instead (much like the games themselves) are meant as a convenient access point to the stage pages themselves. As I'm sure you've noticed, we do not have any of the stage pages for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse set up yet, so if you want to help out with those, I can get an infobox set up for you and build a basic example page that you could follow.
As for screenshots, it is true that we are lacking gameplay screenshots for a lot of level and stage pages in general. This is mainly due to our present focus on building up the text content of these pages, but it does not mean that screenshots are discouraged. For example, when we were building the Kirby Star Allies stage pages (eg. Green Gardens, Nature's Navel, Planet Misteen, etc.) we placed several screenshots in those pages. Eventually, once we are done with the principal work, the idea of adding more screenshots to pages will be pursued more strongly.
(Incidentally, if you intend to use screenshots from the Miiverse archive, please place them in the Official screenshots category when you upload them. This is a category that I made recently which I would like people to start using. :P )
Lastly, gameplay screenshots do not need to be cropped if the idea is to show off an entire area, as stage screenshots tend to. We only tend to crop when we want to focus on a particular element, such as an enemy, character, or item.
Let me know if you have more questions. Also let me know if it is your intention to start building stage pages for Rainbow Curse, and I'll get you set up there. Cheers. --Fubaka (talk) 19:35, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the info! That was very helpful. I think I'll start with the world pages, but will eventually move on to the stages. If you'd like to set up an example stage page I would definitely appreciate it.
The images from the Miiverse archive are not official Nintendo screenshots, they are player-submitted, so I'm not sure if they're appropriate for that category.
I just wanted to make a note here, that while attempting to fix an alignment issue at the bottom of the infoboxes (that I believe I have now corrected within Template:InfoBox End) I changed Template:Infobox-KSAStage and removed a portion of code that specified 'style3' for Infobox End‎. I did this because as of now, Infobox End does not use a style3 parameter. However, I looked and it seems more than one of the Infobox templates include a style3 parameter within their Infobox End call. I wasn't sure if this was in anticipation of changes to Infobox End that would allow for implementation of a style3 parameter in the future. tldr: If you think Infobox End will ever take a style3 parameter you should revert the edit to Infobox-KSAStage. Sunmarsh (talk) 21:28, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Aye, if the images are player-submitted, then no need to use the category I suggested. I just assumed they'd be official screenshots since a lot of those were preserved in the archive. Once I am done with my current task, I could see to dropping a stage page template for you in the sandbox later. As for the change to InfoBox End, I suspect what you did was fine, since there's never been any need for a third style on those particular pieces. Thanks for looking into it. --Fubaka (talk) 21:33, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Alright, I have placed the template in the sandbox for you. Let me know if there's any part of that you have questions about. --Fubaka (talk) 23:17, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Thank you so much~! I'll move the info to my personal sandbox page once I'm able to create pages tomorrow and then clear the site's sandbox. You've been really helpful with this, I really appreciate it! KaTAM Candy.png --Sunmarsh (talk) 23:45, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
No probs. I should be the one thanking you for offering to help in the first place. :P --Fubaka (talk) 23:51, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

Just wanted to update you, that I've uploaded a bunch of images to be used on future pages, but I don't know if/when I will be back to create those pages. I've placed the images organized in galleries on my user page if you or another editor needs them for the new pages. I have even more images saved to my computer but I don't know which stages they're from (I would have to replay each stage to figure that out). If you let me know by email or over on Nookipedia when the pages are created I'll replay the stages, figure it out and upload the images/add them to the appropriate pages. I don't think I have more images for every stage though, just some of them, just fyi. Until we meet again... Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 03:36, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

Aye. Thanks for letting me know. I noticed you were uploading a lot of images, and I will definitely get around to using them eventually if I get to those pages before you do. Cheers and thanks for all the help. --Fubaka (talk) 03:37, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

"Artwork" to "artwork"

How come gallery descriptions are supposed to start with a lowercase letter? --DeepFriedCabbage 23:35, 17 September 2019 (UTC)

It's not that they have to start with a lowercase letter. I did that because the statements in question were sentence fragments, and not ended with a period. As far as I know, you are not supposed to capitalize sentence fragments like that. --Fubaka (talk) 23:37, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
