An Elemental Augment refers to the many different ways in which weapon-based Copy Abilities can be enchanted in Kirby Star Allies. There are five different types of augments which can be applied; Blizzard, Bluster, Sizzle, Splash, and Zap. These elements are applied by having the ally wielding the weapon hold it up, then having the element-wielding ally use an elemental attack on the weapon to power it up. This augment then remains on the weapon indefinitely, only being lost if the ability is discarded or the wielder defeated (not just fainted). Applying an element to a weapon allows the user to perform more elaborate attacks, and often adds special properties in addition to raising the damage dealt. One example is 'Bluster Bomb', which allows the user to float up into the air while holding the bomb in hand.

Augments and Sources

There are five elemental augments in Kirby Star Allies. These can be applied to weapons using various Copy Abilities, from certain specific moves, or from other weapons which already have the augment. The following table lists every known source for each augment, as well as the general character of the augment in question:

Augments in Kirby Star Allies
Augment Granted by Characteristic
Blizzard Ice, Blizzard-enchanted character, Daroach's Ice Laser Gives weapons an icy quality to them, allowing them to freeze foes and waterfalls with strikes.
Bluster Cleaning, Wing, Bluster-enchanted character, Coo's all attacks Gives weapons a windy characteristic, often allowing the wielder to fly while attacking.
Sizzle Fire, Fighter's Giga Force Blast, Sizzle-enchanted character, Burning Gooey, Rick's Fire Breath Gives weapons a fiery characteristic, allowing them to leave smoldering pyres in several cases.
Splash Clean Pitch, Parasol, Water, Splash-enchanted character, Gooey's tongue attacks, Kine's Fish Flop Gives weapons a water enchantment, which allows them to douse flames and destroy Electro Saws.
Zap Beam, ESP, Plasma, Zap-enchanted character Gives weapons an electric enchantment, which allows them to electrify water and power Wires.

List of Augmentable Weapons

The following Copy Abilities (and characters) can receive an augment:

Trivia

  • These combinations are similar to the various Ability Scroll elemental combos which Kirby could perform in Kirby: Squeak Squad, but are much broader in scope.
  • In Kirby Star Allies, the move Hammer Flip of the Hammer ability has lost its fire element from previous games, possibly due to similarities with Sizzle Hammer as well as the purpose of receiving different elemental augments. The Bomb ability has already lost its fire element since Kirby's Return to Dream Land, thus able to become Sizzle Bomb.
