Kabula's Theme refers to a musical piece composed by Jun Ishikawa, which has been used in various boss battles with Kabula since Kirby's Dream Land.
This track is titled やきいもシューティング "Sweet Potato Shooting" (Track 26) in The Very Best of Kirby: 52 Hit Tracks CD.
Game Appearances
Kirby's Dream Land
In Kirby's Dream Land, this track is not exclusive to Kabula, but used in both of the following scenes:
- When Kirby takes the Superspicy Curry;
- When Kirby takes the Mint Leaf, which is Sweet Potato in the Japanese version due to it being a common cause of hiccups in real life.
Since Kirby must take the Mint Leaf to fight Kabula in this game, the track plays during this boss battle.
This track can be found as Music 9 in Dream Land's Sound Test.
In the boss rematch on Mt. Dedede, all boss battles play the respective stage theme instead of the boss battle theme or this power-up track, in Kabula's case.
Kirby Air Ride
In Kirby Air Ride, this theme is remixed to serve as the unlockable stage music of Metal in Top Ride Course.
Kirby Super Star Ultra
In Kirby Super Star Ultra, the new Sub-Game Revenge of the King is a spiritual remake of the Extra Mode from Kirby's Dream Land.
Althought Kabula doesn't appear in the original Spring Breeze from Kirby Super Star, she returns as a Boss in Mt. Dedede Sky during Revenge of the King. This time, Kirby fights her with the Starship.
Her theme is remixed into a heavy metal version in a fast tempo. This version is titled 飛行砲台カブーラー (Flying Fortress Kabula) in the Japanese soundtrack, and can be found as Track 86 in Super Star Ultra's Sound Test.
Kabula can only be fought again in The True Arena just like other bosses from Revenge of the King, using the same track of her theme.
Kirby Epic Yarn
Kirby: Planet Robobot
In Kirby: Planet Robobot, Kabula makes a surprise apperance from the debris of C.O.G.S. in Gigabyte Grounds, now remodified as Core Kabula and challenges a boss battle to Kirby in Robobot Armor Jet Mode.
Her theme is now remixed in eletronic music, the tune and the tempo more resembling the original version from Kirby's Dream Land. In addition, a second section is added to her theme, featuring electric guitar solo.
Core Kabula's Theme is arranged by Hirokazu Ando and titled まさかのコア・カブーラー (Unexpected Core Kabula) in the Japanese soundtrack. It can be found as Track 35 in Planet Robobot's Jukebox.
Core Kabula can only be fought again in The True Arena, using the same track of her theme.
Kirby's Blowout Blast
In Kirby's Blowout Blast, although neither Kabula nor any power-up item appears, the theme is newly remixed in electronic music to serve as the stage music for Level 5 (EX), including the second section in brass instrumentation from Core Kabula's Theme in Kirby: Planet Robobot.
Kirby Star Allies
In Kirby Star Allies, the original version from Kirby's Dream Land is reused in the stage Extra Eclair.
