Kirby: Squeak Squad, (known as Kirby: Mouse Attack in British English, and sometimes spelled without a colon) is a main-series Kirby game for the Nintendo DS released in 2006, developed by Flagship and Natsume, and published by HAL Laboratory and Nintendo. The game uses the same base graphical style as its preceding games, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land and Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, though several new sprites for Kirby and other characters are present, and the game engine has been updated, providing smoother gameplay. Being on the Nintendo DS, a number of stylus-based features are included, mainly in the form of the bubbles and the Copy Palette, which gives Kirby an inventory of sorts that he can use to store Treasure Chests and other items. The game features a main story mode and four Sub-Games, with one of them being hidden initially. Another feature is the Collection Room, where the player can change Kirby's color, listen to music, and view collected items.

Kirby: Squeak Squad plays very similarly to other main-series titles, though it features a more traditional level and stage system, similar to that of Dyna Blade from Kirby Super Star, though larger in scope. In this game, Kirby has his precious Strawberry Shortcake stolen by a band of interstellar thieving mice called the Squeaks, and he chases them all over the world to get it back. In the process, Kirby gets tangled up first with King Dedede and then with Meta Knight, and fights both of them over a misunderstanding. In the latter case, Kirby and the Squeaks' leader Daroach accidentally open up a treasure chest containing an ancient evil, and Kirby has to battle and defeat it using Daroach's Triple Star cane. Only afterward, as thanks for saving him and as an apology for the trouble he caused, does Daroach return Kirby's cake to him, ending the conflict.
