This is a list of Kirby references outside of the Kirby series.
BoxBoy series
- Main article: Qbby
Bye-Bye, BoxBoy!
- Scanning a Kirby-series amiibo into the game allows Qbby to wear costumes based on Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Waddle Dee. The boxes he produces under the effects of the costumes resemble Star Blocks as well.
- The comics "So Close, Yet..." and "Suit Up!" feature Kirby cameos, with the latter comic also having the Robobot Armor. "So Close, Yet..."'s description also references the Star Warriors from Kirby: Right Back at Ya!.
BoxBoy! + BoxGirl!
- The comic "How to make friends!" features Qbby tossing boxes in a similar fashion to Friend Hearts from Kirby Star Allies, but accidentally hitting Kirby at the end of the comic.
Dadish series
- The level intro cutscenes for both games resemble their Kirby's Dream Land 2 counterparts, even having the same font used for the names of the levels.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
- An enemy known as "Anti Kirby" appears in this game, with the same inhaling abilities and near-identical appearance as Kirby.
Mario series
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
- In the 2nd level of the Turtle Zone, an enemy named Unibō strongly resembles Gordos.
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga / Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions
- At the Yoshi Theater in the GBA version, there is a poster for a Kirby-themed movie named "Kirby Story".
- When Mario, Luigi, Popple, and Rookie are taken into the sky by the Beanstar, their way of riding it seems to resemble how Kirby rides the Warp Star.
Super Mario Maker
- Three of the costumes Mario can wear using the Mystery Mushroom power-up are based off of Kirby, King Dedede and Meta Knight. The sounds that each costume makes are the same sounds in Kirby's Adventure.
Part Time UFO (Nintendo Switch)
- Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Bandana Waddle Dee, and many Waddle Dees cameo as plush toys in the two-star version of Toy Shop 2. A star is also present in the same stage, analogous to the Warp Star.
Skullgirls
- One of the costumes for Big Band resembles King Dedede.
Super Cat Tales 2
- Some songs for the game, including the music for some of the stages in World 4, use a soundfont resembling that of the one used in Kirby Super Star.
- Stage 4-4: Into the Storm is themed similarly to Stage 3 of Cloudy Park from Kirby's Dream Land 3. Both stages feature bodies of water situated in stormy clouds.
- The beginning of the Bamboo Forest song resembles the intro to the Green Greens theme, but it is more or less of a sheer coincidence.
Tetris 99
- There are two Kirby themes in Tetris 99, one themed after Super Kirby Clash made available starting on 9/20/2020 at 8:00 am UTC[1] and one themed after Kirby Fighters 2 made available 1/8/2020 at 7:00 am UTC[2] via special events called Maximus Cups.
