Kirby: Squeak Squad (known as Kirby: Mouse Attack in British English, and sometimes spelled without a colon) is a main-series Kirby game for the Nintendo DS released in 2006. It was produced by HAL Laboratory, developed by Flagship and Natsume, and published by Nintendo. This game has the same basic look and feel as Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land and Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, though the game engine has been updated, providing smoother gameplay. It features a main story mode and four Sub-Games, with one of them being hidden initially.

Kirby: Squeak Squad plays very similarly to other main-series titles, and particularly shares much in common with Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, which was likewise developed by Flagship. Unlike that game, however, it uses the level and stage format seen in most other Kirby games, and also features a simplified world map system akin to Dyna Blade from Kirby Super Star. Gameplay involves traversing stages while collecting Treasure Chests, which contain various items that may unlock new features or progress the story.

Having been developed for the Nintendo DS, a number of stylus-based features are included, mainly in the form of the bubbles and the Copy Palette, which gives Kirby an inventory of sorts that he can use to store Treasure Chests and other items. Copy Abilities are more complex and can be upgraded further using Ability Scrolls found in Treasure Chests. Collected items can be viewed in the Collection Room, which acts as a marker of the player's progress toward completion.

In this game, Kirby's precious Strawberry Shortcake is stolen, and he sets out to find the culprit. He initially assumes King Dedede was the purloiner, but he soon finds Daroach and the Squeaks—a roaming band of mouse-like thieves—making off with a treasure chest. Kirby comes to believe that his cake is stashed in this particular chest, and chases the Squeaks across the galaxy hoping to reclaim it. When Daroach opens this chest, an ominous evil unexpectedly appears instead of the cake. Kirby defeats this foe, but returns home empty-handed, while the Squeaks disappear. Later, the Squeaks send Kirby another slice of cake as an apology for the fuss they caused, and all is well.
