Uploading files[edit]

Greetings, MeltanFlood. I noticed you tried to upload some merchandise photos to the wiki. However, you did not specify any information on the files you uploaded, effectively leaving the summary blank. WiKirby requires that all uploaded files use the Aboutfile template (an empty version of which is auto-generated for you when you go to upload a file). You need to then fill in information for the file, including a description, type, and most importantly, a proper source. You can read up on how to do this on this page and this page. Let me know if you have any questions. --Samwell (talk) 17:28, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

I have one, How do i get/make userboxes? —Preceding unsigned comment added by MeltanFlood (talkcontribs) . Please always sign your comments by typing ~~~~!
Well, that's unrelated to this particular topic. Also, I'll remind you to please sign your talk page posts using four tildes (~~~~). That said, please refer to this page for info on that. --Samwell (talk) 17:49, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

Like this?MeltanFlood (talk) 18:19, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

Yeah, that's how you do a talk page signature. Might want to add a space first, though, so you don't end up mashing it at the end of your post, though. I personally use two dashes to help distinguish mine further. --Samwell (talk) 18:20, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

ok i think i got it-- MeltanFlood (talk) 00:41, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

So, I just saw you again uploaded a file with no information on it. This is not okay to do on WiKirby. Please refer to what I said in my original post. If this happens again, I'm gonna have to start giving strikes on your account. File documentation is very important on WiKirby. Please understand. --Samwell (talk) 16:41, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

Which one? because i put info on my most recent upload MeltanFlood (talk) 17:54, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
It was this one, which I have deleted. From what I can tell, you only put in a single sentence explaining what it was. No aboutfile template, no type, no source. What I'd suggest you do before uploading a file again is have a look at the pages for some existing files, especially featured ones, and just look at them in the edit window. You should get an idea of how file pages are supposed to look. Anything that looks strange or confusing should hopefully be clarified on this page and this page. --Samwell (talk) 19:55, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

Regarding page creation (plus a tip)[edit]

Greetings, MeltanFlood. I saw you created Game Over (themes), but the page only consisted of a single paragraph and an (incomplete) infobox of the theme. I saw you created it with a construction template, saying that you would continue to work on it, and I appreciate that. However, the page created as is was still fundamentally a stub, as outlined in the article creation policy, so I went ahead and deleted it. I do want to say that you are in the right track but, as a tip and general advice, many pages start on WiKirby as basically draft sandbox pages, and then are moved to mainspace either when they are done, or the page has enough information for a reader to find useful to read about. A good example of a current draft sandbox page that is still being worked on is User:WillIdleAway/Kirby around the world; despite its large size, it doesn't currently have much info on a couple regions, and we are opting to have that filled before the page is created. As an example of a page that started as a draft sandbox page, and was still moved under construction is Kirby Café menu, which I moved to mainspace once I felt it had enough content, since documenting every single Kirby Café dish was going to take forever, and I wanted information of dishes to be available, and I had a couple dozen ones documented. An example of a page that started as a draft and was only moved when complete was Daroach's Airship, which I figured was mostly useful when I had all quotes documented, so I only moved when they were there. In short, I am giving these examples to show that there are no hard rules on when a draft article should be made mainspace, but generally it's when it has enough content, and one single paragraph will never be enough content.

If you are wondering how to create such pages, you can just really do "User:MeltanFlood/Sandbox" and create it. You can also do something like "User:MeltanFlood/Sandbox/Game Over (themes)" if you want a more specific page for it. I am willing to help if that is not as clear to you.

In short, you are free to recreate that page either with more content (and in particular this page would have a lot of content), or create a sandbox page to slowly work on this article, and when you feel it's ready for mainspace move it there. Hope that helps; feel free to reach back if you have any questions. - Gigi (talkedits) 00:00, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

Okay, just for further context, the Daroach's Airship page started as User:Gigi/Sandbox/List of Daroach's quotes in Kirby Mass Attack, and I didn't move it, but slowly built the quotes part of the page there until it was ready, the I created the page. That is also another way to do it. - Gigi (talkedits) 00:04, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

Is the deleted page still available? I wanted to Copy and Paste the text i have in the deleteed page into the sandbox. Also thanks for telling me how to create a sandbox. === MeltanFlood (talk) 00:22, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
Oh sorry, good point. I will grab the contents of it and move to the sandbox I saw you created. - Gigi (talkedits) 00:39, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

About the Game Over themes[edit]

Hello! I've uploaded the Kirby's Dream Land, Kirby's Adventure, Kirby's Pinball Land and Kirby Super Star game over jingles for you. However, as of now, I can't upload some of the game over jingles (such as the ones from Kirby's Dream Land 2 and Kirby's Block Ball) because I can't seem to find a good recording of them. I will still upload some of the game over jingles, but some of them will be absent. --Paistrie (talk) 22:14, 6 April 2023 (UTC) Alright Tysm. === MeltanFlood (talk) 23:24, 7 April 2023 (UTC)

Just a little note here, I've uploaded most of the Game Over themes! I would advise you to start making your draft now, but before that, I would like to say a few things:
1. Some Game Over themes are reused. An example of this would be how Kirby Star Allies and Kirby's Blowout Blast have the same jingle. This means that you will only have to make a tab for Kirby's Blowout Blast.
2. As far as I know, Kirby: Triple Deluxe reuses a medley of Castle Lololo and Cloudy Park from Kirby's Dream Collection, so you won't find a game over file for that.
I think those are all the pointers I need to make. Remember to ask for help if you need it, and good luck on making your draft! --Paistrie (talk) 20:19, 19 April 2023 (UTC) Alright ill get it done after school. One again tysm!=== MeltanFlood (talk) 12:59, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
