Royal Road - Stage EX 2 (also called Stage 8 EX) is an optional stage in Royal Road, unlocked once Royal Road - Stage EX is completed. There is one Sun Stone and 6 Keychains in this stage. The Gold Keychain is one depicting Taranza.

Overview

The stage begins with Kirby entering a portal from the prison complex. From there, he finds his way to a volcano where a Miracle Fruit appears. After gaining Hypernova, Kirby faces down against the following encounters:

• Winged Eggers
• Waddle Dee Steel Fortress
• Ace Fuwa Rover
• Land Barbar
• Gigant Chicks
• Mowlee Bros. DX

In the last area, Kirby can unravel a tapestry which depicts his sprite history, starting with Kirby's Dream Land and ending with Kirby: Triple Deluxe in Hypernova form. At the end of the tapestry is a little vignette of sprite Kirby and King Dedede bouting at the top of the tower in Bubbly Clouds. The stage exit can be reached from here.

• This is the only EX stage which features Hypernova.
• This is one of two stages in Kirby: Triple Deluxe which features no standard Copy Abilities (the other being Royal Road - Stage 3).
• The music featured in this stage is the Fountain of Dreams theme featured in both Super Smash Bros. Melee and Kirby Air Ride.
