"Deep-Dive Deep", named "Theme from Deep-Dive Deep" in the British English version, is a theme from Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn that plays in the stage with the same name, as well as Fossil Reef. It was composed by Tomoya Tomita.[1]
Composition[edit]
"Deep-Dive Deep" is a wondrous orchestrated piece in C major and 12/8. To convey the aquatic atmosphere, harp glissandi and a gentle string tremolo are used abundantly. The majestic main melody comes in from a French horn. Said melody is based on "Big-Bean Vine" (or its more fitting variant "Rainbow Falls"). It transforms into the latter half of the main motif of "Flower Fields", with the horn replaced by a piano and glockenspiel joined by the harp. A solo viola plays a short bridge similar to the second section of "Flower Fields" and leads to a climactic tutti (the wide phrasing of which would then see some impact in specific sections of "Cozy Cabin" and "Frosty Wheel"). Concluding the piece is a sequence of chords reminiscent of the conclusive sections of "Fountain Gardens". The chords dissipate back to the string tremolo for the track to loop.
