Boarding the Halberd is the sixth stage in Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe. It is a fast-tempo stage set to a slightly slower version of Boarding the Halberd which features propeller drums. Completing this stage for the first time triggers the initial end credits for the game.
Overview[edit]
This stage spans a total of 60 drums from beginning to end, with a few of these being propeller drums that span very wide gaps. As King Dedede traverses this stage, he will need to be mindful of hoops lined with spikes which he will need to pass through laterally to avoid getting hurt. If keeping a good pace, the rides on the propeller drums will line up with the shifting bars of the music playing. After riding all of these propeller drums, King Dedede makes one last leap over a few enemies to reach the goal drum at the end.

The secret version of this stage has a very different layout, though it features largely the same obstacles, albeit with smaller drums in general. It spans a total of 38 drums, though a much greater proportion of these are propeller drums. Many of these propeller drum rides are much longer and take place on smaller drums, all the while placing more coins and enemies in the air to contend with. Large fleets of clouds also appear in various places which can obscure things. In addition, some of the spiked hoops are themselves blocked by Gordos, which can create some tricky situations. The last set of drums involve making super jumps along precise arcs of coins to reach the goal drum.
Enemies[edit]
The following enemies can be found in the secret version of Boarding the Halberd:
- A keychain depicting Kirby's sprite from Kirby's Adventure can be found in the first half of the stage during the second propeller drum ride, in the lower screen partially hidden by the background elements.
- In the secret version of the stage, shortly after the half-way point, a keychain depicting Taranza can be found in the lower screen behind some of the background arches.
