VS. Marx is the boss battle theme of Marx, first appearing in Kirby Super Star.
This theme is notable for its unusual time signature:
- Intro: 2 bars of 6/8
- Section 1 (twice): 1 bar of 7/8, 1 of 6/8, 1 of 9/8, 1 of 6/8, 2 of 5/8, 2 of 6/8
- Section 2: 2 bars of 6/8, 2 of 5/8, 2 of 6/8
- Section 3: 4 bars of 5/8 (3rd one has an additional 1/8), 4 of 6/8
Notable Appearances
Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra
The original version of VS. Marx from Kirby Super Star is titled Meddlesome Marx (Track #10) in Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition Compilation Soundtrack.
In Kirby Super Star Ultra, VS. Marx is remixed with Nintedo DS sound chip, like the other remixed soundtracks.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
On the Halberd stage, VS. Marx theme rearranged by Yasunori Mitsuda plays, which incorporates the end theme of Milky Way Wishes into it. Section 3 is played twice, featuring electric guitar and drums.

Marx becomes a playable Dream Friend from Version 2.0.0 update onward. During Morpho Knight fight in Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go! and The Ultimate Choice, if 1P is Marx, the stage features a different background (yellowish and upside down) and a new orchestral version of VS.
