Wham Bam Rock is the only Kirby Super Star boss to have undergone major changes in appearance in the game's remake. Whereas he keeps his basic facial features, his hair now consists of five thick, lithic leaves, his ears are visible as angular stone structures on the sides of his head and his earrings are shaped like a rhombus. Although Wham Bam Rock's head always remains in the background, he uses his stony, brown, four-fingered hands to attack Kirby. He is able to execute a vast repertoire of attacks with them, ranging from simply trying to smash, grab or punch Kirby or his helper to making pebblestones hail from above by snapping his fingers or making his own hand crumble apart above his enemies. To defeat him, Kirby has to damage his hands, either by using a Copy Ability or by inhaling the rocks he creates and using them as a weapon. Both of his hands share the same health meter; once the meter is empty, the battle is won.

In Kirby Super Star Ultra, a stronger, redesigned version of Wham Bam Rock named Wham Bam Jewel appears in Helper to Hero and The True Arena.
