Do we need the memorial and bonus songs here?

Honestly, they feel very unnecessary here since they are all so similar and take so much of this table, and as far as I know most game names aren't even translated to most languages (and if they are, they are already listed in the game's pages anyway), so they will be very similar to the English names anyway. If we want to translate how each language translates "memorial/bonus song", sure, but we should probably only have one row for that, which should be more than enough. But frankly, I don't even know if that's necessary. - Gigi (talkedits) 00:25, 25 December 2022 (UTC)

I feel that they should be somehow instead of not being at all, because at the end those are still content of the game and the name of them does change between idioms. They don't change a lot, but still the Portuguese translation has its own "música comemorativa 1" instead of reusing the "Memorial Song 1" from English, so having that somehow would be ideal to me. Though it is true that a lot of that feels like copy-pasted content. My option here would be to put at the end of the table, or maybe in a second table following the one that is here, one row per each game name to see how they are translated in this game. So one row with Kirby's Dream Land, one with Kirby's Adventure, and so on, but only the game name without the ": Memorial Song" part. And then, after the names, two more rows; one that cover the "Memorial Song 1/2/3" translations, and other for the "Bonus Song 1/2/3" ones. Like:
Japanese American English British English French-Canadian European French Dutch Italian German Latin American Spanish Castilian Spanish Brazilian Portuguese Traditional Chinese Korean Simplified Chinese
??? Kirby's Adventure ??? ??? ??? Kirby's Adventure ??? ??? ??? Kirby's Adventure ??? ??? ???
??? Memorial Song 1/2/3 ??? ??? ??? Brano dei ricordi 1/2/3
Memories track 1/2/3
??? ??? ??? música comemorativa 1/2/3
memorial song 1/2/3
??? ??? ???
So yeah, while leaving the "memorial song" thing in lowercase when it is like that. In that way we would have archived how each game name is translated in each language in this game, plus how the "memorial song 1/2/3" or "bonus song 1/2/3" part is translated. Doing it exactly like this would be missing if the game name and the "memorial song" part is sepparated byt a ": " or a " - ", unless we provide an example, or a row like "<Game name>: Memorial Song 1/2/3" specifically for that formatting. But I don't know. -Zolerian (talk | contribs) 00:47, 25 December 2022 (UTC)
If the translations of the names are identical to how they're translated in other sources, then I think that just having the translations of Memorial Song and Bonus Song would work. However, if the translation as part of the name for the song differs from other official translations for some reason (unlikely) then I think we should list that game with the system ZY proposed. Maybe also add a note at the bottom of the table saying something like "For translations of the names of the games which the Memorial and Bonus songs are from, see their respective pages"? ---PinkYoshiFan 20:29, 26 December 2022 (UTC)

From what I can tell, there are no new translations of the game names here (for example, in Italian they name Kirby & The Amazing Mirror "Kirby e il Labirinto degli Specchi", which is what the game was originally called). I believe in Chinese for example, for games that were localized in Chinese they use their Chinese names, but for others they use English names. It would be good to double check, in particular also the Korean version. Assuming there is no new translations, I would add a row for "memorial song" and another for "bonus song" and put their translations. Otherwise, I agree that the system ZY proposed works. I will try to find that out in the game files in the next couple days, if I forget feel free to remind me. - Gigi (talkedits) 02:33, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
If we do go through that route, then I suppose having something like "[insert game here]: Memorial Song #" would be ideal to have as well, followed by the actual translated equivalents of each game title and the Memorial Song and Bonus Song identifiers, since some translations might use a dash in place of a colon (e.g. Brazilian Portuguese). Quick question: would the "Kirby 30th Music Fest: HAL Laboratory Dream Band Song" be standalone like the other unique music tracks or would it be treated the same as the other Memorial and Bonus Songs? – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 19:37, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
I'd say that that one should be standalone, as it has its own unique different name. -Zolerian (talk | contribs) 19:24, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
