Later on, the townspeople confront Escargoon about the monster attack. He assures them that there is no monster living in the castle, but the farmer disagrees, saying that it's, big, frightening, and devours everything in sight, to which Escargoon replies that he is describing King Dedede (who is having his supper at a nearby table). [[Tiff]] and [[Tuff]] then confront Escargoon, accusing him of lying to them (like usual). Escargoon ignores this and tells the two to remember their place compared to him and the king's. Tiff then tells her father that something suspicious is going on, to which [[Sir Ebrum]] agrees, admitting that a monster is something that could be King Dedede's doing. His wife, [[Lady Like]], also agrees that the king is likely behind it. Escargoon shames Sir Ebrum, reminding him that he is the Cabinet Minister and should not disrespect the king. He then asks King Dedede if they should be thrown in the dungeon as punishment. King Dedede laughs loudly and asks the townspeople if the monster happens to resemble his new pet octopus, who is sitting in a tank. The farmer states that the octopus does bear a resemblance to the monster, aside from being a lot smaller. King Dedede assures them that his octopus wouldn't hurt a fly, and then feeds him some fish. While Escargoon shoos the townspeople out of the castle, Tiff looks directly at his tank and becomes highly suspicious of the little pet, especially after he looks at her menacingly. | Later on, the townspeople confront Escargoon about the monster attack. Kirby Comes to Cappy Town is the first episode of the Kirby: Right Back Ya! series. It is notable for introducing Kirby as well as many other main characters in the series. This episode also marks the first (and only) appearance of Octacon and the first use of the Fire ability in the series.
Synopsis
The young Star Warrior, Kirby, unexpectedly crashes into Cappy Town and quickly friends the townspeople, with the exception of King Dedede and Escargoon. During the time of his Warp Star being fixed, he faces abuse from the king and has a brutal battle with his first enemy, Octacon.
Plot
The episode starts off as a seemingly peaceful night in Dream Land. Suddenly a large octopus - like monster called Octacon appears and wakes up the sheep, who are sleeping in the fields. The sheep try to run away, but are grabbed and devoured by Octacon. The farmer, hearing this ruckus, runs outside and is shocked to see the bones of his sheep being thrown at him. After the farmer faints, Octacon flies away rather suspiciously to the castle of King Dedede.
Tiff and Tuff then confront Escargoon, accusing him of lying to them (like usual). Escargoon ignores this and tells the two to remember their place compared to him and the king's. Tiff then tells her father that something suspicious is going on, to which Sir Ebrum agrees, admitting that a monster is something that could be King Dedede's doing. His wife, Lady Like, also agrees that the king is likely behind it.
Later on the townspeople confront Kabu about the incident.
Trivia
- The basic plot of this episode would later be referenced later in the series when the town tries to re-tell it in Cartoon Buffoon.
- Octacon would later appear in Kirby Star Allies as one of the living paintings that Adeleine & Ribbon can conjure.
