Kirby passes through both ends of a Copy Drop Gate in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, which forcibly removes, then returns the Sword ability.

A Copy Drop Gate[conjectural title] is a pair of special gateways with an energy barrier inset, which appear in Kirby: Triple Deluxe. If Kirby enters through this barrier, any Copy Ability he has will be forcibly removed, and the Ability Star will be warped away. If Kirby then passes back through the same gate, or passes the gate on the other side, the ability will appear as a Copy Essence just beyond. Essentially, these gates serve as a restrictive checkpoint, forcing Kirby to pass through the area under their jurisdiction without an ability.

If Kirby initially enters through a gate without an ability, he will still be 'checked', but nothing will happen. If Kirby is defeated inside the area between two gates, any ability taken will not be returned to him.
