Box Boxer is a Mid-Boss found in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror and Kirby: Squeak Squad. It has a basic appearance similar to that of a brown boxer breed of dog. Unlike a real dog, however, Box Boxer appears to be lacking a body, being composed mainly of an oversized head instead. Attached to it are two pale brown, three-toed paws at the bottom, while its floppy ears act as arms, ending in hand-like extensions of the same Template:Colour as its feet.
Game Appearances
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
Box Boxer is one of the more aggressive and fast-paced opponents in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror and faced repeatedly throughout the game. Its primary attack is to quickly pace from one side of the screen to the other, occasionally throwing a punch or jumping straigth into the air before it starts doing so. If Kirby touches Box Boxer while it is on the ground, it uses its ears to grab and clap the hero, dealing damage. It is also able to perform giant leaps, generating stars upon contact with the ground, as well as fire red, harmful blasts of energy from its "hands" that travel in a straight line.
If Kirby does not possess a Copy Ability during the encounter, inhaling and spitting back the stars or energy blasts is the only way of harming the Mid-Boss; five such projectiles are needed to take down all of its health. By inhaling and swallowing the defeated dog, Kirby can obtain the Fighter ability.
Kirby: Squeak Squad
In Squeak Squad, Box Boxer returns as a Mid-Boss, being encountered in the first stage of Jam Jungle. Having been taken directly from the game's predecessor, Box Boxer is identical in looks to its Kirby & the Amazing Mirror incarnation and also acts nearly the same, but tends to punch Kirby more frequently. It once more grants the Fighter ability upon being swallowed.
