In the Kirby novel series the Mini ability appears in Kirby's Labyrinth Rescue!, where Kirby accidentally inhales a Minny while eating an apple, causing him to mistakenly copy the Mini ability from it. Due to Kirby's small size he gets picked up by King Dedede who blows Mini Kirby away with his nose. After being blown away into a tree, Mini Kirby finds a small hole in the roots of the tree. He is easily able to fit inside the hole because of his miniature size which helps him find a Mirror Door inside of a cave. Once Kirby enters the Mirror Door he loses the ability and return to normal.

Near the end of the novel, during the battle against Magolor, Waddle Dee gives Kirby a Minny so he can get the Mini ability once more. This time, Kirby uses his small size to avoid detection from the manipulative mage and put himself in a position so he can easily deal the finishing blow with a different copy ability also provided by Waddle Dee.
