KDL3 Metroid Sprite.png Metroid is an enemy from Kirby's Dream Land 3. It can only be found in Stage 2 of Iceberg, in the magma-filled caverns.

They somewhat resemble jellyfish, though they have nasty-looking teeth on their underside, and a veiny interior surrounded by a transparent membrane. They float about, and will attempt to couple with Kirby's head, though they don't seem to hurt him at all.

Metroids cannot be inhaled, nor harmed by most forms of attack. The only thing that can defeat them is the Ice ability, which references the fact that Metroids are weak to the Ice Beam in their home series. Kirby has to dispatch all six of the Metroids in this fashion in order to get a Heart Star from Samus at the end of the stage.
