A Metamortex is a vortex-like object that appears in Kirby's Epic Yarn. Once Kirby (and Prince Fluff) have jumped in, the Metamortex will change them into a variety of special situational transformations. Metamortexes appear in every stage that involves such a transformation, and will have a different icon in the middle of the vortex depending on what type of transformation it causes. At the end of the stage or section, a Reel Gate is used to return Kirby and Fluff to normal.
In the fight against Yin-Yarn, Meta Knight drops a Metamortex for Kirby and Prince Fluff to transform into the Tankbot, in order to counter Yin-Yarn's transformation into Mega Yin-Yarn.
