In Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Whispy Woods once again appears as the boss of the first level of the game, Cookie Country, and has been given more attacks in said game than in any previous incarnation, especially in Extra Mode. Whispy Woods will once again use the initial strategy of dropping apples and puffing air in the beginning stages. Additionally, Whispy Woods will grow significantly larger once his health drops to about half, dropping enemies such as Waddle Dees and Gordos. Whispy Woods will also inhale Kirby and chew on him, causing damage, forcing the player to shake the Wii Remote to allow Kirby to escape.
