Kirby Wave Ride is one of the Sub-Games available for immediate play in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. Kirby Wave Ride pits four Kirbys (pink, yellow, red, green) against one another in a Warp Star, nighttime surfing race. The objective of this sub-game is simply to be the fastest surfer to reach the Goal line.
Playing
This sub-game is simple enough to be played with just one button, which prompts Kirby to jump.[1] While at the peak of a water wave, Kirby can jump to get a speed boost. Jumping too often slows him down, so budget the jumps.[2] Speed boosts are evident by colored text saying "Good", "Great", or "Excellent" trailing Kirby after a well timed jump. Several sets of waves appear suspended in the air. This series of ramps are highly rewarding with the speed boost to whichever Kirby uses it. Three difficulty levels are available to choose from. The differences are how fast the computer controlled opponents surf their warp stars. Also the time span of the levels tends to increase, as Level 1 tends to be a 35-45 second game; Level 2 takes closer to 45-55 seconds; and Level 3 is nearly a 60 second surfing blitz.
