- This article is about the Copy Ability. For the Top Ride course, see Light (course).
Light is a Copy Ability exclusive to Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. It is an uncommon ability, being acquired only from the rare Cool Spook enemy or via a Mix. Kirby's appearance does not change while in possession of this ability, although in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, like other abilities with limited uses, it will cause him to flash.
Unlike most of Kirby's Copy Abilities, Light cannot be used to attack enemies. Instead, using it causes the pink hero to launch a beacon into the air, which lights up the current room for as long as he is in it, revealing paths and sometimes hidden doors. Once used, the ability disappears. Although valuable in dim rooms, the beacon fired by the Light ability has no effect in rooms which are already lit up, making it entirely useless in most situations; presumably for this reason, the only enemy that naturally grants it is almost exclusively found in dark sections, and no Museum containing the Light ability exists.
Other abilities similar to Light[edit]
Although the Light ability itself has not made a formal appearance outside of Kirby's Adventure and Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, there are a handful of other items, abilities and combinations which also serve the purpose of illuminating dark spaces, as follows:
- Spark + Kine in Kirby's Dream Land 2 and Kirby's Dream Land 3
- Bomb-Spark in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
- The candle item in Kirby's Return to Dream Land
- Light-Bulb Mouth in Kirby and the Forgotten Land
