Kirby's Adventure/Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

In Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Nightmare in Dream Land, Heavy Mole appears as the boss of Yogurt Yard, the fifth level in the game.

In battle, Heavy Mole digs through the dirt using its red spike balls, which can hurt Kirby if he comes into contact with them. Sometimes, when digging up or down, Heavy Mole launches a red or yellow Dygclops missile from its back side at Kirby. If the red Dygclops is swallowed, the Sleep ability is given to Kirby. By swallowing the yellow/brown one, however, Kirby gains the Hammer ability, which can be used to attack the boss or dig through the ground.

Kirby's Avalanche

In Kirby's Avalanche, Heavy Mole is the ninth boss fought (not counting the three "Lesson" bosses only fought in Easy mode). It focuses on destroying blobs quickly, instead of strategically forming chain reactions.
