Monster Flame is a Super Ability available in Kirby's Return to Dream Land and its remake, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. It is an extremely powerful form of the Fire ability, and is obtained by swallowing a Super Hot Head.

Monster Flame Kirby's appearance changes in that he obtains a large red crown of Fire, with a star on the front.

Moveset[edit]

Upon execution, Kirby has the ability to summon a fiery dragon that will pass horizontally at the approximate elevation of Kirby's hat.

The fiery dragon can defeat enemies, as well as break through stumps and other vertical objects that Kirby must cross.

Sometimes Kirby must time the Monster Flame so that it can hit a revealed weak spot. The dragon can be controlled somewhat by pressing ↑ and/or ↓ on the +Control Pad while it flies.

Trivia[edit]

  • Monster Flame and Snow Bowl are the only Super Abilities that don't have the normal counterpart's name in them.
  • Magolor can also obtain the power of Monster Flame from the Master Crown. He uses it as one of his Super Ability attacks during the battle with his second boss form. Unlike Kirby, Magolor will summon blue fiery dragons. The ones Magolor summons in Main Mode and The Arena fly horizontally, the ones Magolor Soul summons in Extra Mode and the Wii version's True Arena fly vertically. In Deluxe's True Arena, Magolor Soul's Monster Flame dragons fly in both horizontal and vertical directions (one horizontal and one vertical for the first two sets, two horizontal and two vertical for the last set).
  • Excluding boss battles, Monster Flame is the only Super Ability in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe that appears in more than three stages, appearing in the HAL Room found in Dangerous Dinner - Stage 2.
