Whispy is fought twice in this title, first at the end of Green Valley, and again at the end of Blue Sky Palace. Unlike most other incidents of this boss, Whispy does not use Apples to attack, and instead he must be damaged by crashing into his face with a Touch Dash or a Star Dash. When he is fought the second time, he turns himself metal, meaning that only a Star Dash can hurt him. When half of his stamina is depleted, he will summon Bronto Knights to protect him. In his metal form, he will summon Barampas.

Notably, in the initial reveal teaser for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse at E3 2014, Kirby was shown battling Whispy Woods using a cannon, which is not present in the final version of the fight.
