The Waddle Dees are recurring characters in the [[Kirby (novel series)|''Kirby'' novel series]], first appearing in ''[[Kirby's Decisive Battle! Battle Royale!!]]''. Unlike their appearance in the [[Kirby (series)|''Kirby'' series]], they didn't exist as a species, but instead they were created as copies of [[Waddle Dee (novel character)|Waddle Dee]] in ''Kirby's Decisive Battle! Battle Royale!!''. At the end of the novel, [[King Dedede (novel character)|King Dedede]] takes them as servants and from then on, they work for him, mostly serving him food.
