'''Cookie Country - Stage 1''' (simply called '''Stage 1''' or '''1-1''' in-game) is the first stage of [[Cookie Country]] and thus the first stage of ''[[Kirby's Return to Dream Land]]'' and its remake ''[[Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe]]''. There are three [[Energy Sphere]]s in this stage. Being the first stage, this is where tutorial signs can be found. This stage also introduces the [[Super Ability|Super Abilities]], starting with [[Ultra Sword]] and leading into a rift into [[Another Dimension]] concluding with a purple [[Sphere Doomer]] fight.

==Overview==

This stage can be described as a tutorial of sorts, with signs with directions on how to execute basic moves scattered across the stage grounds. The first area of this stage begins with a rather straightforward path to the first [[door]] with a few minor obstacles in the way. After Kirby brushes up on basic [[inhale]] and [[Star Bullet|spit]] techniques, he can inhale a [[Blade Knight]] to gain the [[Sword]] ability or a [[Sir Kibble]] to gain [[Cutter]] before reaching the entrance to a cave at the end of the path.

Once inside the cave, Kirby must progress through a narrow winding tunnel where he can encounter a [[Hot Head]], some [[Cappy|Cappies]], and a few other foes. Here, a [[key]] is required to unlock a door leading to the first [[Energy Sphere]] of the game, and to the rest of the cave. A [[1-Up]] can be found behind a block which requires a [[Inhale|Super Inhale]]. The path then splits into a hidden area with a red [[Point Star]], however some blocks need to be removed by inhaling before [[Kirby]] can access it. The path upward leads to the door to the third area, back out of the cave.

Once out of the cave, the path continues downhill and leads up to a crumbling hillside where [[Super Blade Knight]] appears out of a portal. Kirby can inhale this foe to obtain the [[Ultra Sword]] [[Super Ability]]. From here, Kirby can destroy several large chunks of the landscape with enemies standing atop them by swinging his giant sword at them, before encountering a particularly large mound, which if destroyed, will yield a portal to an eerie, alternate dimension.

===Another Dimension rift===
The rift wall approaches from the left as Kirby must traverse a path with several obstacles and various sized Waddle Dees, along with a section with gaps that must be [[dash]]ed through. Along the way, Kirby will need to use his Super Inhale to clear away some blocks before finally reaching the door. From there, Kirby encounters two [[Copy Essence]]s - [[Fire]] and [[Sword]] - to choose from, before facing the first [[Sphere Doomer]] of the game. After the Sphere Doomer is defeated, Kirby may recover two more Energy Spheres, thus completing the energy spheres for this stage. From there, after picking up a [[Maxim Tomato]], Kirby can get out of the rift and continue up to the stage exit from where the portal was (though there is a blue Point Star far above the Goal Door).
