Overview
Overview
The stage takes place in five major rooms. The first has Kirby walking along a straightforward path past a multitude of enemies.
The stage begins in a deep forest area, with a path leading to the right past a multitude of enemies. The door to the next section lies at the end of the path.

The second room has Kirby bounding between platforms over a wide pit.
The door leads to a series of suspended platforms over a deep dark pit. The path continues to the right past more ambushing enemies. The door to the next section lies at the right end on a separate platform.

In the third room, Kirby finds himself on a long series of alternating slopes leading downward. Kirby can use the Wheel ability here to race a Bomb Block trigger and hopefully reach the bottom before it does to net a 1-Up.
The door leads to a grassy pit with ramps leading downward. A Wheelie can be found here to provide the Wheel ability. Along the path, a Bomb Block appears on the road which, if activated, will start to work its way down the path. Kirby will need to beat it down there using Wheel to get to a different door with a 1Up next to it before it is blocked off. Both doors lead to the next section.

The fourth room is a cave containing a few trapped enemies. To the right is a pit containing a Phan Phan (or Rolling Turtle in Kirby's Adventure). Defeating and swallowing it yields the Throw ability.
The door leads to a cave containing a few trapped enemies. To the right is a pit containing a Rolling Turtle (or Phan Phan in the remake). Defeating and swallowing it yields the Throw ability. The door to the next section lies just to the right.

The last room is a tunnel which can serve as a practice area for the Throw ability. The stage exit lays at the end of this path.
The door leads to a small passage leading right. Here, Kirby can practice Throw by tossing Waddle Dees through Star Block barriers. The stage exit is located at the end of the tunnel, guarded by a Waddle Doo.

Differences between versions
Enemies, Mid-Bosses, and Abilities
While graphical changes and re-interpretations are common between the two versions of the game, the change is particularly notable in this stage. The first area is depicted as a flat artificial construct with lots of turbines in the background in Kirby's Adventure, while in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, it instead resembles a more natural forest landscape with a variable floor. The choice of music for this area also differs between versions, with Kirby's Adventure using the main 'Grape Garden' theme and Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land using the 'Forest Stage' theme. The second area likewise features a more abstract layout in the older title, while in the newer one, it is a continuation of the forest theme.
