A '''Block''' is a type of [[device]] which takes on a cuboid shape and is used as part of the environment, typically acting as an obstacle, [[hazard]], or resource. Unlike many other devices, blocks act as fully tangible objects which [[Kirby]] and other playable characters can stand on, be barricaded by, or even be [[Crusher|crushed]] by, and most types can be broken or otherwise removed. Blocks come in a wide range of types and characteristics, but the most common include [[Star Block]]s, [[Bomb Block]]s, [[metal block]]s, and barrier blocks. Often, various types of blocks are used in stage puzzles, and have to be interacted with in a certain way to obtain the desired result. Blocks also tend to contain [[item]]s or obscure hidden [[door|doorways]]. Unlike [[Enemy|enemies]], blocks tend not to reappear if broken unless the stage is reset.

== Trivia ==
*A number of enemies in the ''Kirby'' series disguise themselves as blocks or make use of blocks. These include [[Blockin]], [[Blucko]], [[Iceton]], and [[Block Waddle Dee]].
*In ''Kirby: Squeak Squad'', there is an unused Copy Ability called "Block", which uses the same staff as the [[Triple Star]] cane and uses a hat similar to [[Mirror]] Kirby's hat from ''Kirby Super Star''.
