'''Mabel Turns the Tables''' is the 62nd episode of the ''[[Kirby: Right Back at Ya!]]'' series. In this episode, [[Mabel]] is invited by [[King Dedede (anime character)|King Dedede]] to host a fortune-telling show on [[Channel DDD]]. She begins to issue bad fortunes to those who watch her show, and [[Samo]] conspires with [[Tuff]], [[Kirby (anime character)|Kirby]] and the [[Cappy (anime)|Cappy kids]] to help make these fortunes come true. After enough suggestion, nearly the entirety of [[Dream Land (anime)|Dream Land]] comes to believe Mabel's fortunes, and King Dedede sets her up as a new Great Prophetess. After learning of Samo's tricks from [[Tiff]], Mabel hatches a scheme of her own and leads all of Dream Land out to the coast after prophesying doom to the country, then with [[Tornado]] Kirby's help parts the sea to make it look like a miracle. Once she has everyone eating out of her hands, Mabel then berates everyone for being so foolish and reveals the ruse.

==Plot synopsis==

The episode begins at [[Castle Dedede]], where [[Kirby (anime character)|Kirby]], [[Tiff]], and her family are watching a new program on [[Channel DDD]]. Hosting the show is [[Mabel]] who uses it to predict the fortunes of everyone watching. She projects six cards with various imagery on the screen through her crystal ball, and asks the audience to choose their favorite. From there, she predicts that anybody who had chosen the card depicting clouds would be hit by something falling from the sky. [[Sir Ebrum]] had chosen this card, and jokes about this idea at first, but Kirby accidentally tosses a spoon in the air which hits him on the head, thus vindicating the prediction. Later on down in [[Cappy Town]], some of the senior [[Cappy (anime)|Cappies]] talk about the prediction, and [[Mayor Len Blustergas|Mayor Len]] affirms it by describing how he got hit in the head with a crab-apple right after picking the cloud card. While watching other Cappies gossip, [[Tuff]], Kirby, and the Cappy kids get an idea to try and make Mabel's fortunes come true after hearing them to see what would happen. Overhearing this, [[Samo]] steps in and offers them free soda and shortcake in exchange for them carrying this plan out.

Later on, [[Professor Curio]] is watching What's my Fortune at his collection and ends up choosing an unlucky card. His prediction tells him not to leave his home that day or his life may be at risk. Curio decides to ignore this prediction and sets out to do some archaeology work. At that moment, the kids set a trap for him by throwing a banana peel in his way and then rolling a barrel at him that causes him to be rolled down the street. Mayor Len ends up hitting Curio by accident with his car, launching the poor professor back into his house through a window and breaking several of his artifacts. Later on, Curio is taken to [[Doctor Yabui]]'s clinic and wrapped in bandages, this affirming Mabel's prediction. Next up, [[Chief Bookem]] gets the unlucky draw, and his fortune claims that he will make a grave mistake. At that moment, Tuff sneaks in and uses Bookem's keys to free [[Doron]] while the Chief is not looking, and Doron makes a break for it as Chief Bookem chases. Later on, Channel DDD reports that Chief Bookem has been jailed for making the mistake of letting Doron free, affirming Mabel's prediction.

Next up, [[Chef Kawasaki (anime character)|Chef Kawasaki]] gets a bad card and is told not to go near the ocean that day or he will face danger from the water. He decides to ignore this warning and heads to the beach to fish, but Tuff sets a trap for him by catching his fishing line and attaching a [[Watermelon]] to it, knocking Kawasaki into the water as he casts. Kirby then runs in and [[inhale]]s Chef Kawasaki back out of the water to get the watermelon, causing the chef to fall on his back after being pulled out and later being covered in bandages. Meanwhile, Tiff sees what the kids are up to as the Cappies begin to wonder about Mabel's predictions and King Dedede and Escargoon gloat about the show's success. The kids wander into Mabel's studio as she gives Escargoon a prediction saying he might get struck by lightning. At that moment, Tuff instructs Kirby to let down the studio lights which crash to the floor and then shock both Escargoon and King Dedede as everyone at home watches. Back at the bar, Samo and the kids celebrate their success, but are interrupted when Tiff barges in and berates them for their actions.

After a brief discussion, Tiff convinces Samo to come clean and tell Mabel what he and the kids were up to. After they do so, Samo asks Mabel if they could continue doing this for a while longer, and she agrees, thinking it to be amusing. However, it is soon shown that everyone in Dream Land wants to get their fortune read by her. Shortly thereafter, King Dedede shows up and abducts Mabel using his [[Waddle Dee (anime character)|Waddle Dees]] and proclaims her to be the new Prime Minister of Dream Land, thus replacing Sir Ebrum. She is then taken against her will to [[Castle Dedede]]. Despite this, she shows up at [[Kirby's House]] the next morning and wakes the sleeping puffball up using a small flying rotor toy, then tells him she has an idea. Back at the castle, Mabel resumes her show dressed in divine robes and proclaiming herself as a great prophetess. King Dedede asks the Great Mabel if he has her blessing to destroy [[Whispy Woods Forest]] to build his new golf course, and she says it is okay to do so, causing the kids back at the bar to become outraged. Mabel follows up by telling King Dedede it is okay to raise taxes on Dream Land as well, causing Tiff and Samo to question her sanity. However, at that moment, Mabel concludes by proclaiming that neither of these acts will matter, because she predicts that all of Dream Land will be swallowed by the sea. King Dedede and Escargoon doubt this claim, but Mabel affirms it by referring to the events of [[Prediction Predicament - Part II]], which gets everyone's attention. She commands all of Dream Land to follow her on a pilgrimage to the coast or meet a terrible fate.

Soon, all of Dream Land forms a procession behind Mabel as she heads out. Samo and the kids are left to survey the now empty Cappy Town, and they are found by [[Fololo & Falala]]. Meanwhile, all of the Cappies have gathered at the coast as Mabel instructs them to cross the sea. Not seeing a way how, Mabel proclaims that she will part the water, and with a click of her staff, the ocean suddenly parts to show a passageway across the sea floor. As Tiff and the others arrive to witness the spectacle, [[Tokkori]] asks them where Kirby is. As everyone awes at Mabel's power, she immediately turns around and berates all of them for being so foolish. She then reveals that all of her predictions were tricks, and also shows that this water-parting trick was the work of [[Tornado]] Kirby, who reveals himself after returning the ocean to normal. Mabel then throws off her entire fortune-telling persona in front of the crowd, and also tells King Dedede his plans are off. Furious at having been manipulated like this, King Dedede tries to attack her, but Tornado Kirby blows both him and Escargoon away, thus ending the episode.
