Kracko: Difference between revisions

'''Kracko''' is a recurring [[boss]] in the [[Kirby (series)|''Kirby'' series]]. It resembles a large floating cloud, but it has a single eyeball in its center and small spikes on its fringes. In every iteration, Kracko's signature attack is its ability to shoot lightning bolts, fire beams from its eye, and generate various minions from its body (usually [[Waddle Doo]]s). It also has a weaker, more premature form called [[Kracko Jr.]]

Kracko's first appearance was as the third boss of the stage [[Bubbly Clouds]]. In this stage it also appears as a mini-boss as Kracko Jr. Kracko has 6 HP, while its Kracko Jr. form has 3. Kracko summons Waddle Doos and uses a variety of Beam attacks.

Kracko appeared as the fourth boss of ''[[Kirby's Adventure]]'' and ''[[Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land]]'', in the level [[Grape Garden]].

Kracko attacks by shooting beams from its body, spitting out Starmen and swooping about, often shooting lightning in the process. To hurt Kracko, Kirby can spit the Starmen back at it, or use Hi-Jump to tackle it. Once Kracko is defeated, it explodes, leaving behind the fourth [[Star Rod]] piece for Kirby to collect.

Kracko reappears in ''[[Kirby's Dream Land 2]]'' as the boss of [[Cloudy Park]]. It is fought on a cloud platform, and begins as Kracko Jr. In this form, it can hide in the cloud platform, occasionally exposing its eye to shoot beams. After its Kracko Jr. form is defeated, it refills its health and turns into the full-grown Kracko. Both forms are able to summon Co-Krackos.

Despite Kracko not truly appearing in ''Kirby's Dream Land 3'', a painting of it is drawn by [[Ado]], which can use most of Kracko's basic attacks. Interestingly, Ado is fought in [[Cloudy Park]] where Kracko was fought in ''Kirby's Dream Land 2''.

Kracko is a boss in ''Kirby Super Star'' and its remake, ''Kirby Super Star Ultra''. It appears in [[Spring Breeze]], [[Milky Way Wishes]], [[the Arena]], [[Revenge of the King]], [[Meta Knightmare Ultra]], [[Helper to Hero]], and both [[The Arena]] and [[The True Arena]]. In Revenge of the King and the True Arena, it takes the form of '''Kracko's Revenge'''. This form is strikingly different in its col{{ou}}ration from standard Kracko; being purplish instead of white, and bearing a red eye and black spikes. Along with Kracko's standard attacks, Kracko's Revenge can fly into the middle of the screen and shoot large bolts of lightning in eight different directions. Its Star Beam attack is also larger, and its lightning attacks are more targeted.

Kracko is the opponent in stage 11. It is the third-to-last enemy, and only [[Meta Knight]] and [[King Dedede]] are fought after it. This is the only game in the series where Kracko talks directly to Kirby.

Kracko is faced as a boss twice in this title, first in Level 3, then in Level 6. Both times, he flies about the area, laying a continuous line of [[Gordo]]s to attempt to box Kirby in. Meanwhile, he will be firing Co-Krackos or lightning bolts at Kirby. To defeat him, Kirby must fire a continuous barrage of [[Air Bullet]]s at the cycloptic cloud.

In Kirby Air Ride, Kracko is actually an item in Top Ride, not a boss. It selects a random opponent and strikes them with powerful lightning. This can catch other racers who run into the shock range as well.

Kracko appears as the boss of [[Mustard Mountain]]. Unlike previous games, this is the only game to put Kracko in a place that is not in some way related to clouds. In this game, it creates [[Flamer]]s; being the only game where it does this.

Kracko appears in the [[Boss Game]] [[Block Attack]], specifically in Levels 2 and 3 (Kracko Jr. appears in Level 1). Kirby can defeat it by slamming into its eye, which can be done by removing pieces of its body first. In the meantime, Kracko will use its normal beam and lightning attacks to try and prevent this.

Despite Kracko itself not really appearing in ''Kirby Squeak Squad'', [[Doc]] appears as the [[boss]] of [[Cushy Cloud]], and uses a mech that is made in the likeness of Kracko.

Kracko is (surprisingly) a [[Mid-Boss]] in ''Kirby's Epic Yarn''. It is fought three times. The first time it chases Kirby for a short distance in [[Cloud Palace]]. Much later in the level, Kracko is actually fought. Kirby defeats it with the [[Star Shooter]] transformation. A relative of Kracko is also faced as a mid-boss in [[Outer Rings]], fittingly as [[Space Kracko]].

In ''Kirby: Triple Deluxe'', Kracko appears as the boss of Level 3, [[Old Odyssey]] and is fought again in Stage 2 of [[Royal Road]]. It appears after being summoned (inadvertently) by [[Taranza]] in a last-ditch effort to escape Kirby. Kracko is souped up and possesses many new attacks not seen in previous iterations. It also has a DX form which is even more powerful.

The following lists all of Kracko's attacks in Story Mode and [[The Arena]] in ''Kirby: Triple Deluxe''. Attacks in italics are used in the second phase of the fight only.

|Kracko shakes itself and drops a [[Waddle Doo]] into the arena, which can be swallowed for the [[Beam]] ability.

|Kracko turns grey and unleashes a swirl of blue [[beam]] whips that spiral around itself for a short time.

|Kracko turns blue and delivers a torrent of rain below itself.

|Kracko turns black and unleashes a flurry of lightning bolts below it as it travels slowly across the stage.

|While in a different plane than Kirby, Kracko shoots out two giant coiled spikes on both sides of it,<br>then attempts to ram Kirby with them, leaving [[Recoil Star]]s in its wake. After passing once, it will try again from the other side.

|Kracko turns grey and vibrates violently, releasing all sorts of junk that can be inhaled and spat back, including a [[Parasol Waddle Dee]], finishing with a cannon that Kirby can use to fire to a different plane.<br>After charging, Kracko inflates to a huge size and then proceeds to zap the entire stage with lightning. Kirby has to escape to a different plane to avoid getting hit.

|If on the same plane as Kirby, Kracko charges up, then fires lightning bolts on both sides of it, then above and beneath it. It then fires two diagonal bolts. Any ground-hitting bolts will leave a star.

|If Kracko is on a different plane than Kirby, it will attempt to fire a barrage of beam shots into Kirby's plane, which spread across the floor.<br>It may also deliberately fly into a different plane to perform this attack. The last shot of the barrage leaves a star behind.

|While in the background and Kirby is in the foreground, Kracko shoots out its big golden spikes from the top of its 'head' and charges up a giant ball of energy, which it then tosses into Kirby's plane in an attempt to hit him.<br>The blast hits the ground, then splits into many smaller blasts and some stars. These smaller blasts can be inhaled as well.

Whenever Kracko takes a hit, a visible tear drops from its single eye. Upon being reduced to half health, its eye and complexion become red, and it opens up with many more attacks after clearing away the background with a whirlwind, making it a factor in the fight.

Kracko appears as a Boss on its own home stage. It will attack the fighting Kirbys and can be defeated. Its moves are mostly the same as [[Kracko#Kirby: Triple Deluxe|its ''Triple Deluxe'' incarnation]], though stripped down to accommodate a single-plane arena.

Kracko serves as the first Ordeal, and defeating it unlocks the Ruins.

Kracko appears in one of the objectives in [[Crazy Theater]]. The Kirbys must dodge its shocks.

Once defeated, it duplicates itself into '''Twin Kracko''' and continues the boss battle.

*Its name is a pun on "crack", an onomatopoeia of the sound of lightning striking.
