Regarding 'Ribbon's Crystal Gun'[edit]

Greetings, RileyGronlundSuperMario. I noticed that you moved one of our old articles to a different name. While I understand that the original title 'Fairy Wings-Crystal Gun' was a bit of a mouthful, it was based on the original Japanese name for the ability (that being '妖晶' or 'Fairy-Crystal'). Now, I'd like to ask if there is any official source which uses the name you moved the article to. If not, I will likely move it again to 'Fairy-Crystal'. Please get back to me soon. --Fubaka (talk) 14:27, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Just a quick point about article titles[edit]

Hoy Riley. I saw that you created the page for Devil Kirby (episode) recently. I also noticed you originally had it under Frog Wild before redirecting it. I'd like to make it clear that, while it hasn't always been strictly enforced, WiKirby does prefer to use the English-localized name for articles first and foremost, wherever there is one. As such, I'd like to move the contents of the Devil Kirby article back to Frog Wild and leave the former as a redirect. No worries on your end. I just wanted you to know the policy going forward. --Fubaka (talk) 19:08, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

Regarding the 'RealMe' template[edit]

I noticed that you tend to replace our 'realMe' template with 'the player' whenever you see it. I have been a bit lax when enforcing the rules regarding that template, allowing people to use 'the player' when writing when they want to, but I do not appreciate having instances of the template being used replaced with 'the player'. Please refrain from replacing the 'realMe' templates in our pages. --Fubaka (talk) 20:33, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

Regarding names of articles pertaining to the anime[edit]

Hoy Riley. I would like to commend your work touching up our articles and continuing to add content relating to the anime. I have been monitoring your progress on the RC from the Discord, though I find I often have to move in and make further changes to the things you've written in order to keep it consistent with the naming standards set up in the wiki. Just a few things I would like you to do when writing these articles:

  1. If you could use the localized English names for episodes and characters wherever possible, I would appreciate it. On the article itself, the Japanese names can always be mentioned as an aside, but the article titles should always be the localized version unless there is a good reason not to use it.
  2. When mentioning Kirby, Meta Knight, or King Dedede in articles or sections relating to the anime, I would like you to use the links of Kirby (anime character), King Dedede (anime character), and Meta Knight (anime character). These pages do not exist yet, but I feel it is appropriate to have separate pages for these characters in their anime incarnations, since I believe there is more than enough information regarding them to justify it, and these characters are different enough from their game incarnations to warrant it.

That is all I have to say. Keep up the good work. --Fubaka (talk) 04:26, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

Using templates in pages[edit]

Greetings. I appreciate your initiative to get the Kirby (anime character) page set up, along with the creation of pages on cross-over characters like Chao and Donbe and Hikari. Now that you are fairly established here, there is something else I would like you to start doing when making new pages.

You will notice that all of our pages relating to characters have a special infobox which appears before the main body of the text. Whenever you make a new character page, be sure to paste that infobox in and fill all of the details as appropriate. If you have any questions about how to use this infobox, please let me know here or on my own talk page.

In addition, when covering anything specific to a particular game (an example being how Chao appears in Kirby's Dream Land 3), be sure to put {{Kirby'sDL3}} at the bottom of the page right before listing off the categories. That will place the special navbox made for elements from that game on the page, and you don't need to type anything else to make that appear.

One thing I would recommend in general is to see how these templates were used on other pages, particularly our handful of featured pages, in order to help you get a grip on how these are used. Again, do not hesitate to ask questions if anything doesn't make sense. I can also help you add these templates if necessary, as I have been doing with the pages you've set up so far. Cheers. --Fubaka (talk) 22:24, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Read this before doing anything else![edit]

Hoy, Riley. I see you have been editing again. I'd like to get your attention regarding the creation of new pages, especially regarding those relating to Kirby: Right Back at Ya!.

  • First, and I really need to stress this point, when writing pages relating to the anime, the English localized names of characters and episodes MUST be used at all times. The ONLY exception is when you are using the Japanese episode name to describe something that happens exclusively in the Japanese version, and that must be in its own section aside from the main plot summary. (also, this means to link to the Monster page instead of "Demon Beast", which turned out to be an out-of-date mistranslation.)
  • Second, when writing plot summaries of episodes, I want you to keep things brief and concise. Some of your earlier work was much too long. I want you to aim for three paragraphs generally speaking. We don't need to tell the reader everything that happens in the episode.
  • Third, when making a new episode or Monster page, I want you to use and fill in the infoboxes I made for them. The only thing I'll let pass for now is an image of the episode, but feel free to do that as well as long as the image is decent enough quality.
  • Fourth, just a heads-up, the following characters and locations have (or will have) separate pages for their anime appearances, so be sure to use the right link when linking to them:
Kirby
King Dedede
Meta Knight
Nightmare
Waddle Dee
Captain Waddle Doo
Fololo & Falala
Chef Kawasaki
Cappy (use this one to refer to the residents of Cappy Town in general)
Kabu
Blade Knight
Sword Knight
Dream Land
I'm probably missing a few, but you get the idea. Any character who has a significant (more than one episode) role in both the video games and the anime should have separate anime pages.
  • Fifth, and lastly, we don't need a page on every little thing, especially if that thing is an object from only one or two episodes. (I.e., we do not need an entire page just to talk about Pump Up D and what it does.)

That's all regarding the anime for now. I intend to do more work regarding the anime pages myself once I've finished plugging holes in our knowledge on a lot of the games. One thing I intend to do is make a full comprehensive navbox for anime content, which will include all of the characters, monsters, and episodes, along with other things.

Additionally, if you are going to make a new page, please don't make it a stub. The reason the Secret Diary page did not exist yet was because I had not gotten around to doing a full page about it. I've recently acquired Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, so I should be able to fill the gaps there pretty soon.

Alright. This is a lot, I know, but I need you to understand what's expected before you go off writing again. This time, I want you to respond to me on this page, so that I know you read this and acknowledge it. If I see you doing a lot of editing and you've not responded to me here, I will have to block you to get your attention. I don't want to have to do that, so just let me know that you've read this first! Also, let me know if you have any questions. I'm here basically every day, and I get live updates via the Discord every time a change is made to the wiki. Get back to me soon! --Fubaka (talk) 02:33, 7 September 2019 (UTC)
