"Fatal Blooms in Moonlight" is a remix of sorts of "Bouncing Boss Battle". However, it is much slower-placed and includes more elegant instrumentation, starting with a quiet piano intro and continuing into a fuller arrangement. In its main segment, the song runs at about 160 beats per minute in the key of G minor. Like its basis, the song still features electronic instruments along with brass and synths, but it also includes a female vocal as its lead instrument. According to director [[Shinya Kumazaki]]:

As the title suggests, we were going for a sense of a bewitching feminine beauty illuminated by the moon. In the music for other boss battles in the series, we've been trying to make it sound harsh and scary. But this song focused much more on beauty. When I was scripting the game, I listened to this song over and over, and channeled that sense of frustrated dreams which your foes experience.<br><br>The female voice is an important element in this track, and the screams and laughter leave a deep impression during the boss battle.
