Bronto Burt can typically be described as being small and round with two pairs of semi-transparent, insect-like wings, tiny yellow or orange feet, large eyes with long eyebrows, and a small mouth. In later appearances, he has blush marks similar to Kirby's. Bronto Burt is described in his ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' [[trophy]] as "A bird that looks a lot like Kirby...", but this designation of "bird" is not corroborated within the ''Kirby'' series itself. Also according to this trophy, he does not serve [[King Dedede]], and he divebombs from time to time, hurting Kirby only because he is in the way. Bronto Burt also has color variants, as seen in ''[[Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land]]'' and ''[[Kirby and the Rainbow Curse]]'', although they are typically only aesthetic. These color variants are not as common as the pink variation.

Bronto Burt is among the most ubiquitous enemies in the ''Kirby'' series, appearing in every game except for ''[[Kirby's Star Stacker (Game Boy)|Kirby's Star Stacker]]'' and [[Kirby's Star Stacker (Super Famicom)|its SNES remake]], and the ''[[Team Kirby Clash (series)|Team Kirby Clash]]'' games.

In ''[[Kirby's Dream Land]]'', Bronto Burt (known in this game as "Bront Burt") makes his debut appearance alongside Kirby and many of his classic adversaries. In this game, Bronto Burt is a relatively common airborne enemy. His attack pattern involves flying through the air, falling and looping, following Kirby, or jumping followed by flying straight. As with other enemies in this game, he can be defeated in one hit or by getting inhaled, and is worth 400 points when defeated via a [[Star Bullet]] or item.

In the Normal mode of ''Kirby's Dream Land'', Bronto Burt may be found in every stage except for [[Mt. Dedede]]. [[Koozer]] replaces Bronto Burt in the Extra Game.

Bronto Burt reappears in ''[[Kirby's Adventure]]'' and its [[Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land|remake]]. He behaves very similarly to how he did in his previous appearance, and is also a relatively common sight in stages.

Bronto Burt appears as Kirby's second rival in the easy mode of ''[[Kirby's Avalanche]]'', after [[Waddle Dee]] in the main game. This is also the only place where he can be fought. Notably, this is the only time in the series when Bronto Burt has dialogue. His ''Puyo Puyo'' equivalent is Nasu Grave.

Bronto Burt makes another appearance in ''[[Kirby's Dream Land 2]]''. He behaves in the same manner as other main-series appearances. He rewards 200 points when he is defeated.

Bronto Burt appears as an enemy in ''[[Kirby's Block Ball]]'', worth 300 points on defeat. When defeated, he will drop some small feathers and [[food]] items pretty commonly netting Kirby some additional points. For some reason, he only appears in three stages in the game, two of which are the first couple stages.

Bronto Burt appears again in ''[[Kirby Super Star]]'' and its [[Kirby Super Star Ultra|remake]] as a common airborne enemy. He has low HP compared to most enemies in the game, which makes him easier to defeat, and is worth 300 points when defeated. He appears in all main game modes except for [[Gourmet Race]] and [[Revenge of the King]] (the latter of which replaces him with [[Koozer]]). In ''Kirby Super Star Ultra'', Bronto Burt is also represented in both [[Kirby on the Draw]] and in [[Kirby Card Swipe]].

 

Bronto Burt reappears as a common enemy in ''[[Kirby's Dream Land 3]]'', acting the same as he did in past games. In later stages, drawings of Bronto Burt appear on certain walls, along with drawings of [[Waddle Dee]]s and [[Bouncy|Bouncies]]. The Bronto Burt drawings can become sentient to attack Kirby, acting like the genuine article once they come to life.

Bronto Burt makes another appearance in ''[[Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards]]''. In this game, he retains his usual attacks, but he can also charge at [[Kirby]] from the background of the stage. He is among the most basic and ubiquitous foes in ''Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards'', appearing on every star except for [[Dark Star]] (where only [[N-Z]]s exist as common enemies). Lifting a Bronto Burt after inhaling him will make him flap his wings, propelling Kirby into the air for a short while. [[Adeleine]] also draws Bronto Burts in her boss fight.

Bronto Burt appears in ''[[Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble]]'' as an airborne enemy. He can be taken out using [[Air Bullet]]s, but otherwise should be avoided. Bronto Burt can sometimes be seen towing certain items, including [[Point Star|star pieces]] and [[Balloon (item)|balloons]].

 

 

Bronto Burt appears as a generic enemy that Kirby can defeat in ''[[Kirby Air Ride]]''. When he spots Kirby, he tends to attempt to follow his movements while staring at him.

 

Bronto Burt appears in ''[[Kirby & The Amazing Mirror]]'' in a similar style as from ''Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land''. Nothing significant about him is changed between these two games.

Bronto Burt reappears in ''[[Kirby: Canvas Curse]]'' once more as a basic enemy. In this game, as with most enemies, Bronto Burt can be stunned using the [[Magical Paintbrush]] for Kirby to defeat him. He is fairly common throughout the main levels and stages, and can sometimes be quite a nuisance, pursuing Kirby through walls at great distances.

 

 

 

Bronto Burts can also be conjured by [[Drawcia|Drawcia Sorceress]] during her boss fight, though these Bronto Burts are a sickly indigo color.

Bronto Burt appears again in ''[[Kirby: Squeak Squad]]'', with the same look and behavior as in ''Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land'' and ''Kirby & The Amazing Mirror''. When possessed by [[Ghost]] Kirby, Bronto Burt can be made to fly around, but can only attack by collision, which hurts him in the process.

The Yarn form of Bronto Burt appears many times in ''[[Kirby's Epic Yarn]]'' and its [[Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn|enhanced port]]. In these games, in addition to standard Bronto Burts, some Bronto Burts carry bombs or even [[Spear Waddle Dee]]s and drop these on Kirby or [[Prince Fluff]]. They often appear in the [[Tankbot]] sections. Bronto Burt is also represented as a piece of [[furniture]] depicting him in plushie form, worth 2000 [[bead]]s from the [[Chaise Woole|Furniture Shop]]. Another furniture piece - the Totem Pole found in [[Secret Island]] - also depicts Bronto Burt, though this time paired with Waddle Dee and [[Waddle Doo]].

Bronto Burt is not featured as an enemy in the main game of ''[[Kirby Mass Attack]]'', but he does appear in two sub-games: [[Strato Patrol EOS]] and [[Kirby Brawlball]]. In Strato Patrol EOS, he appears as a generic enemy that can be defeated quickly. In Kirby Brawlball, he cameos as one of the enemies sucked into [[Marx]]'s [[Black Hole]] attack.

Bronto Burt makes a return in ''[[Kirby's Return to Dream Land]]'' and its remake, ''[[Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe]]''. He functions largely the same as in the previous games. However, there exists a hardier version residing in [[Halcandra]] which has a robed appearance similar to [[Magolor]] along with blockier wings. In ''Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe'', Bronto Burt reprises his appearance as a target in [[Kirby on the Draw]].

 

===''Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition''===

In addition to appearing in the ported games in ''[[Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition]]'', Bronto Burt also appears as an enemy in the [[New Challenge Stages]] Sub-Game.

Bronto Burt returns in ''[[Kirby: Triple Deluxe]]'', where he takes more advantage of the foreground/background mechanic than most other enemies. He is often seen hiding in foliage or other obstructions in the background, where he will then attempt to charge Kirby, much like he did in ''Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards''. There are also insectoid (more than usual) variants found in the [[Royal Road]] level called Sectra Burt, which presumably serve [[Queen Sectonia]].

Bronto Burt is also featured on two [[keychain]]s, depicting his [[sprite]]s from ''Kirby's Dream Land'' and ''Kirby Super Star''. He also appears as an enemy in the sub-game [[Dedede's Drum Dash]].

In ''[[Kirby Fighters Deluxe]]'' and its sequel ''[[Kirby Fighters 2]]'', Bronto Burt is one of the enemies that can appear (in his original 8-bit form) on the [[Butter Building (Battle Stage)|Butter Building]] [[Battle Stage]]. Here, three of them can be seen flying in a wavy pattern across the stage, and will deal 12 damage to any fighters they come into contact with. They can be defeated easily by most attacks.

 

Bronto Burt makes an appearance in ''[[Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe]]'' as hazards on the various courses for King Dedede to avoid. He typically can be seen hovering in place, though some may incorporate a patrol path into their movements. Two Bronto Burts can also be seen carrying the Blindfold Banner used to obscure parts of the stages.

Bronto Burt returns in ''[[Kirby and the Rainbow Curse]]''. This time, there are two different varieties, distinguished by color. The familiar magenta ones fly in set patterns or hold in place while the new blue ones will doggedly pursue Kirby until he or they are defeated. In addition, there is a big blue Bronto Burt that can be encountered in some stages that takes seven Touch Dashes to defeat.

Bronto Burt appears in the intro for [[Dedede's Cake Royale]], and is one of the few standard enemies that Kirby can attack in ''[[Kirby Battle Royale]]''. He does not pose much of a threat, and is only really there to let Kirby practice his swordsmanship on the way to the tournament.

 

 

Bronto Burt returns in ''[[Kirby Star Allies]]'' as a very common enemy, just the same as he did in previous main-series titles. Aside from appearing in HD for the first time, he is not significantly different in look or behavior.
