Off-Roader

The Off-Roader is a transformation in Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn. In this form, Kirby or Prince Fluff turn into an all-terrain vehicle, and start driving as long as they accelerate. The transformation first appears in Pyramid Sands, and other stages that feature the Off-Roader transformation include Dusk Dunes, Frigid Fjords, and Meta Melon Isle.
When in Off-Roader form, Kirby usually competes with other opponents, referred to as Truck Monsters, to be the first one to finish the race. The vehicle can also jump, and stomping enemy cars is another form of attack. Kirby or Prince Fluff must use boost power-ups scattered along the track to destroy obstacles and plow through enemies in order to avoid slowing down and losing beads. If they finish first, they are awarded a considerable amount of beads.
In a two-player adventure, the player who touches the Metamortex first becomes the vehicle, and the other player becomes a booster. The booster can help the car go faster, destroy obstacles, and plow through enemies without taking a hit. The booster gets fatigued after firing too much, and firing longer makes the duration of the exhaustion even longer. When the booster is exhausted, he cannot ignite a boost for the car.
