It plays in [[Point of Arrival]] (once entering the city portion), [[Downtown Grassland]], [[Rocky Rollin' Road]] and the very beginning of [[A Trip to Alivel Mall]].

Final boss

This article or section is under construction. Therefore, please excuse its informal appearance while it's being worked on. We hope to have it completed as soon as possible.
Reason: I had an intrusive thought to make this and now we're here. Please help.
KDL Dedede artwork.png
Artwork of King Dedede, the first and most common final boss in the Kirby series.

A final boss (sometimes referred to as a last boss) is the term used to describe the last boss in a video game, or a mode within a game. The Kirby series is no stranger to this idea, with most games in the series utilizing bosses, and by extension final bosses. There are a couple things that set apart final bosses from regular bosses:

Often, Extra Modes also have their own final bosses, whether it be a complete unique boss or a variant of the Story Mode's final boss. On few occasions, the "true" final boss of a game's Story Mode can only be accessed once a certain milestone has been reached, with the penultimate boss of the game only being a final boss in the bad ending. Each of the many Boss Endurance modes found throughout the series naturally also has a final boss. In most Boss Endurance modes, such as The Arena, the final boss is a mostly unaltered version of the Story Mode's final boss, but tougher variants or difficulties, such as The True Arena, almost always have a unique final boss, most often being a Soul boss.

List of final bosses

It has been requested that image(s) be uploaded and added to this article. Remove this notice once the image(s) have been uploaded and applied.
Preferably get a screenshot of the King Dedede boss fight in Meta Knightmare instead of Story Mode.

The following table lists every final boss in the Kirby series, in chronological order:

Final bosses in the Kirby series
Boss Game(s) Mode(s) Description
KDL Super Dedede Jump.png
King Dedede
Kirby's Dream Land Normal Game
Extra Game
King Dedede is the very first final boss in the series, being the main antagonist and final boss of Kirby's Dream Land. He can use his hammer, inhale, and Super Dedede Jump to battle Kirby in his castle atop Mt. Dedede. Kirby is able to attack back by inhaling the Dropped Stars left by some of his attacks, and spitting them back at him. After his defeat, the king gets launched out of his castle and Kirby collects the final Sparkling Star, using it to transform into a giant balloon to give back the stolen food to Dream Land's citizens. In Extra Game, King Dedede uses his attacks more aggressively.
KNiDL Nightmare battle.png
Nightmare
Kirby's Adventure
Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
Normal Game
Extra Game
Boss Endurance
After Kirby defeats King Dedede once again, Level 8 starts, and Nightmare is revealed to be the true villain of the game. King Dedede uses his inhale to launch Kirby and the Star Rod towards Nightmare's Power Orb, whom Kirby must defeat using the Star Rod before reaching the ground and losing a life. Afterwards, Nightmare turns into his Nightmare Wizard form, using more attacks to try to take down Kirby. When defeated, Nightmare explodes, leaving a large crater in the moon, but Kirby manages to escape using his Warp Star. Nightmare is also the last boss in the Boss Endurance mode.
KPL Dedede.png
King Dedede
Kirby's Pinball Land Main Mode(?) King Dedede returns as a final boss, more stuff here.
KDC Robo Dedede.png
Robo Dedede
Kirby's Dream Course Single-player
Single-player Extra Game
Kirby's Dream Course only features one boss, known as Robo Dedede. It is a robotic version of King Dedede, piloted by the king himself. This boss is fought in its very own Course, which is the last Course of the game's single-player mode. Robo Dedede has the ability to summon smaller robots called Chibi Dededes to attack Kirby.
KDL2 Dedede Fight 2.png
King Dedede
Kirby's Dream Land 2 Story Mode In the last stage of Dark Castle, a possessed King Dedede appears as the final boss of the game if Kirby has not collected all Rainbow Drops, resulting in a bad ending. Otherwise, King Dedede is the second to last boss.
KDL2 Dark Matter Fight 1.png
Dark Matter
Story Mode
BOSS
If Kirby managed to collect every Rainbow Drop, he will duel the real villain, Dark Matter Blade, using his newly acquired Rainbow Sword to reflect his attacks. After defeating the swordsman, Dark Matter will reveal his true form, transforming into a large eyeball known as Real Dark Matter. During this phase, Kirby will slowly fall down to the ground, and if he does not defeat Real Dark Matter fast enough, he will lose a life because of it. Dark Matter is also the final opponent Kirby will face in this game's Boss Endurance mode.
KBBa Brobo.png
Brobo
Kirby's Block Ball Main Mode(?) If Kirby was unable to get the Border Line score in every previous stage, Stage 10 will be the last stage on his journey, resulting in a bad ending. This stage features the unique boss Brobo. (Maybe some more stuff here.)
KBBa Stage 11 Round 7 screenshot.png
King Dedede
King Dedede is the true final boss of the game, appearing in Stage 11. Kirby must defeat him to collect the Sparkling Stars and save the day. (Maybe some more more stuff here.)
KSSU Mt Dedede Boss Fight.png
King Dedede
Kirby Super Star
Kirby Super Star Ultra
Spring Breeze Due to Spring Breeze following essentially the same plot as Kirby's Dream Land, King Dedede naturally reappears as the final boss of this mode, using the same attacks to try to defeat Kirby. This time, however, Kirby has the ability to use Copy Abilities and summon Helpers to take down the king more easily.
KSSU Dyna Blade Fight.png
Dyna Blade
Dyna Blade Dyna Blade is the only boss Kirby will have to face in the last stage of the titular mode, Dyna Blade's Nest. This giant bird is able to fly across the stage, breathe out fire, and grab Kirby using her claws and beak. After her defeat, it is revealed that the reason for her havoc was that she was simply trying to feed her chicks.
KSSU Wham Bam Rock Fight.png
Wham Bam Rock
The Great Cave Offensive Wham Bam Rock is an enormous boss that Kirby will have to battle at the end of The Great Cave Offensive. This creature always hides in the background, and his attacks consist of using his large rocky hands to try to smash, punch, and grab Kirby, drop rocks from the ceiling, and shoot projectiles out of his fingers.
KSSU RoMK Meta Knight Fight.png
Meta Knight
Revenge of Meta Knight Though originally introduced as a regular boss in Kirby's Adventure, Meta Knight reappears as the main antagonist and final boss of Revenge of Meta Knight. Meta Knight's battle takes place in Chapter 7 of the mode. Like in Kirby's Adventure, he offers Kirby a sword, but this time, Kirby is able to deny the offer. Meta Knight now has the additional ability to summon tornadoes. After the swordsman's defeat, Kirby rushes to leave the crashing Halberd using Wheelie Rider, but Meta Knight flies after Kirby in an attempt to stop him from fleeing.
Marx KSSU battle.png
Marx
Milky Way Wishes
The Arena
After Marx tricks Kirby into summoning Galactic Nova in Milky Way Wishes, the jester reveals his true form, and Kirby has to chase after him to stop him from taking control of Popstar. Marx has the abilities to teleport, shoot deadly boomerangs, summon Black Holes, and much more. After his defeat, Marx gets launched into Galactic Nova, which promptly explodes. Marx is also the last opponent faced in The Arena.
KDL3 Iceberg Stage 7 screenshot 03.png
King Dedede
Kirby's Dream Land 3 Story Mode In the same fashion as Kirby's Dream Land 2, King Dedede, possessed by Dark Matter, is once again the final boss in the bad ending, which happens if Kirby did not collect every Heart Star. However, this battle has a second phase where Dedede's stomach turns into a big mouth that tries to eat Kirby and shoot orbs at him. The battle takes place in Stage 7 of Iceberg, atop Castle Dedede.
KDL3 Hyper Zone screenshot 09.png
Zero
Story Mode
Boss Butch
If all Heart Stars were obtained, they assemble into the Love-Love Stick, and the last level of the game, Hyper Zone, is unlocked. In this level, Kirby will first have to rematch Real Dark Matter using the Love-Love Stick, while optionally getting help from Gooey using Mock Matter. After Dark Matter's defeat, the final boss reveals itself: Zero. This giant eyeball is able to summon miniature replicas of Dark Matter and even shoot blood from its body. After its first health bar is depleted, Zero's center rips out from the rest of its body and tries to chase after Kirby in a last-ditch effort. This is also the last fight in Boss Butch.
KSSS Gryll match.png
Gryll
Kirby's Star Stacker (Super Famicom) Story Mode The wiki considers this a final boss so this should get some more details (and maybe King Dedede in Kirby's Avalanche too but I don't really know).
K64 Ripple Star Stage 4 screenshot 01.png
Miracle Matter
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards Story Mode Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards once again features a bad ending. In this game, the final boss of this ending is Miracle Matter, who appears in Stage 4 of Ripple Star. This boss has seven different forms based on all of Kirby's Copy Abilities in the game, including Bomb, Burn, Cutter, Ice, Needle, Spark, and Stone, with each one having its own attack. Miracle Matter can only be damaged by the Copy Ability or Star Bullet corresponding to its current form.
K64 Dark Star screenshot 06.png
Story Mode
Boss Battles
If Kirby and his friends collected all Crystal Shards to avoid the bad ending, the final level of the game will be unlocked: Dark Star. After a short platforming stage with help from their friends, Kirby and Ribbon reach , the true final boss of the game. Together, they use the Ribbon's Crystal ability to take down this angelic eyeball by attacking its eye and halo to reveal a spiny green tail, which can be attacked to deal damage. The duo can also destroy 0²'s wings to make it much slower, but 0² can fight back by shooting blood out of its eye and green gas out of its tail. This boss is also the final opponent in the Boss Battles mode.
KTnT King Dedede Screenshot 1.png
King Dedede
Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble Story Mode
Extra Game
King Dedede reprises his final boss role in Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble, being faced in Lvl 8-4 of the game. Right before the battle starts, the king grabs a star piece to become invincible, but this can be knocked out of him by using the nearby cannon to shoot Kirby at him while he's recovering from a charge attack. Other than that attack, Dedede can also swing and throw his hammer at Kirby and use his inhale attack. In Extra Game, the wall behind King Dedede is lined with spikes, making the cannon a lot more dangerous to use.
KNiDL King Dedede battle.png
King Dedede
Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land Meta Knightmare Since the battle with Nightmare is skipped in Meta Knightmare, King Dedede appears as the final boss instead, battling Meta Knight in Stage 7 of Rainbow Resort. King Dedede's fight is identical to the one in Story Mode, using the same attacks as in Kirby's Dream Land but with an added hover.
KatAM Intro7.png
Dark Mind
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror Story Mode
Boss Endurance
After Dark Meta Knight's defeat in the Dimension Mirror, a portal opens up, and the Kirbys are sucked into it. Just in time, Meta Knight manages to throw his sword into it, which Kirby swiftly grabs. Only then, the first form of Dark Mind reveals himself. This form has many different attacks involving shooting stars at Kirby, spinning around his mirrors, and dropping deadly bombs. This form is fought four different times, with each battle gaining new attacks and a different arena. After these battles, Kirby is taken to a new arena, with Dark Mind having transformed into a giant laser-shooting eyeball. Once this battle is also cleared, Dark Mind tries to flee, but Kirby uses his star-shooting Warp Star to take him down, which eventually makes the staff credits roll, allowing Kirby to keep shooting Dark Mind to gain as many points as he can. Dark Mind is also the final boss of Boss Endurance, but only one battle per form takes place.
KCC Drawcia Sorceress Boss.png
Drawcia
Kirby: Canvas Curse Story Mode After rolling his way through The World of Drawcia, Kirby finally meets up with the witch who turned him into a ball, that being Drawcia Sorceress. Drawcia mostly leaps and dives around the arena, summoning reflectable magical spheres and painting various enemies for Kirby to defeat, including the unique Para Sorceresses. After the sorceress's defeat, she morphs into a spherical ball of paint to become the Kirby series' first Soul boss: Drawcia Soul. This ghostly creature's primary attack involves summoning Para Matters, which the Magical Paintbrush will have to hit back at her. Similar to Marx, she can use an aggressive variant of Shooter Cutter, and often teleports around, during which she can be stunned by the Magical Paintbrush to let Kirby dash into her. This boss also introduced the attacks Bound Pound, Deadly Sun, and Splash Rush, which would all become staples for future Soul bosses.
KSqS Gamble Galaxy - Boss 2.png
Dark Nebula
Kirby: Squeak Squad Story Mode
Extra Mode
Boss Endurance
When Daroach finally gets his hands on the Treasure Chest and opens it up, he immediately regrets his decision, as he gets possessed by an ancient evil and turns into Dark Daroach. Following his defeat, he drops his Triple Star cane, and a small, dark star pops out of him and flies away from Kirby. Kirby grabs the cane and begins chasing the star through a short stage while avoiding enemies and boulders. Eventually, the star properly transforms into the boss Dark Nebula. This boss has three different forms it uses to attack Kirby: a fire form which can create a large pillar of flames and burn the floor, an ice form which can shoot a laser downward to freeze the floor, and an electric form which can shoot lightning to electrocute all borders of the arena. In all forms, Dark Nebula can also slowly move around and shoot stars at Kirby. This boss is also the last one confronted in Boss Endurance.
KSSU The Revenge screenshot Masked Dedede.png
Masked Dedede
Kirby Super Star Ultra Revenge of the King Due to Revenge of the King following a very similar plot to Spring Breeze, King Dedede once again appears as the main antagonist and final boss of the last stage. This time, the king has a brand new mechanical hammer and a power-amplifying mask, taking on the persona of Masked Dedede. The fight takes place in an arena similar to the one in Spring Breeze, but this one notably has an electrified fence above it, and the only audience member is Bandana Waddle Dee. Kirby is also offered a hammer before Masked Dedede jumps into the arena and the fight begins. Masked Dedede is naturally able to use Inhale, Head Slide, Hover, Super Dedede Jump, and regular hammer attacks, but can also use his new hammer to shoot out missiles and flames, as well as quickly spin around the arena, which Kirby will have to hover over while carefully avoiding the electricity. After his defeat, Dedede's mask breaks, and he is once again sent flying out of his castle.
KSSU Wham Bam Jewel Fight.png
Wham Bam Jewel
Helper to Hero In Helper to Hero, Wham Bam Rock is seemingly the final boss the Helper will have to face. However, right after his defeat, a stronger version of the boss takes his place, the "Wham Bam king" Wham Bam Jewel. This boss has a very altered design from Wham Bam Rock, having hands made out of diamonds instead of rocks, wearing a crystal crown and golden earrings, and having three eyes. Other than this, Wham Bam Jewel uses largely the same attacks as Wham Bam Rock, with some minor differences. He can unlatch crystals from one of his hands to drop onto his enemies, drop bombs from his hand which Kirby can inhale for the Bomb ability, and shoot blasts from his finger tips in a very similar fashion to Master Hand & Crazy Hand.
KSSU True Arena Galacta Knight.png
Galacta Knight
Meta Knightmare Ultra Meta Knightmare Ultra follows Meta Knight going through most stages of Kirby Super Star. However, a major difference is that he does not fight Marx at the end. Instead, he summons Galactic Nova himself and wishes to fight the greatest warrior in the galaxy. Galactic Nova grants this wish and summons the powerful Galacta Knight. As his name implies, Galacta Knight is similar to Meta Knight in many ways, being a circular creature with a mask and wings, though Galacta Knight is almost constantly hovering over the ground. Galacta Knight has many attacks similar to Meta Knight, using his lance to perform slash attacks, shoot Crescent Shots, and thrust down when in midair, move around as a tornado similar to Mach Tornado, create a large tornado that moves around the stage, and glide around while bouncing off the ground. Additionally, he is able to create shockwaves, summon pillars of fire, shoot a beam that rotates around the stage, and even summon clones of the Meta-Knights.
KSSU Marx Soul fight 5.png
Marx Soul
The True Arena At the very end of Kirby Super Star Ultra's The True Arena, a cutscene shows Marx after his defeat in Milky Way Wishes absorbing a piece of Galactic Nova's power and transforming into the zombified Marx Soul. Marx Soul can use harder variants of all of Marx's attacks, using Shooter Cutter twice in a row, growing six thicker vines during Seed Attack, and performing all of his attacks much faster. Marx Soul also has two attacks inspired by Drawcia Soul; Splash Marx and Deadly Ball. The former attack's paint blobs can be swallowed for the Paint ability, but unlike in its other appearances, this ability is practically useless against Marx Soul, only dealing a tiny amount of damage. After his defeat, Marx Soul lets out a bloodcurdling screech, splitting in two before exploding.

Kirby's Epic Yarn
Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn
Story Mode While Kirby and Prince Fluff are venturing through yarn-ified Dream Land, Yin-Yarn suddenly appears in the level hub to corrupt the whole place and escape into his own boss stage. Yin-Yarn uses his knitting needles to create replicas of two bosses found earlier in the game, Fangora and Capamari, to try to defeat Kirby and Fluff. After each of these rematches, Yin-Yarn summons a curtain to block the view, which Kirby and Fluff will have to escape by climbing up the stitched platforms. After this, Yin-Yarn summons various enemies which can be turned into yarn balls to throw at Yin-Yarn. After enough hits, Yin-Yarn seems to be defeated, and Kirby and Prince Fluff obtain the last piece of Magic Yarn, but before their dance could finish, it is revealed that Yin-Yarn is actually the pair of knitting needles, who swiftly create a new body for themselves known as Mega Yin-Yarn. Luckily, Meta Knight flies by to drop Kirby and Fluff a Metamortex, allowing them to transform into the Tankbot to take down Mega Yin-Yarn. In Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn's Devilish Mode, all three Devils also appear during the fight.

Story Mode
The Arena
After defeating Landia, Magolor comes down from the sky, congratulating Kirby and his friends on their victory, before grabbing the Master Crown and using it to transform into Traitor Magolor, revealing his evil intentions and leaving to take over Popstar. Luckily, Landia is still strong enough to carry Kirby and co. to chase after Magolor through Another Dimension. Magolor brings out the Lor Starcutter to try to stop them, but it gets taken down, so Magolor shoots the heroes down to battle them directly. Magolor mostly uses Magic Sphere and Deadly Needles to attack, but can also create Black Holes and summon Sphere Doomers from dimensional rifts, and can even flip the camera upside down. After depleting his health, Magolor creates a magic barrier to protect himself, but also summons enemies to attack Kirby and co. Unfortunately for him, some of these enemies give Kirby Super Abilities, allowing Kirby to break the barrier using the Ultra Sword to slice through Magolor. However, this attack triggers the Master Crown to fully take over Magolor's body, transforming him into his second form, and quickly taking away Kirby's Ultra Sword. This form has the powers to dash through wormholes, create painful rifts in dimensions, and even use attacks based on Ultra Sword, Flare Beam, and Monster Flame. Eventually, Kirby and his friends manage to defeat him, freeing Magolor from the Master Crown and escaping from the collapsing dimension on top of Landia. Both of these fights also appears as the final bosses of The Arena.

Magolor Soul
Extra Mode
The True Arena
In Extra Mode and The True Arena, Magolor's second form is replaced by a stronger version known Magolor Soul, being fought after Magolor EX. This boss has many souped up attacks, performing attacks much faster. He also has a new attack based on Grand Hammer and Snow Bowl, known as Grand Snow Hammer, where he slams a hammer on the ground to freeze it and summon large icicles. In The True Arena in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Magolor Soul gains a much harder fight. Starting off, Magolor Soul immediately shoots two giant lasers to cover almost the entire screen. He can also keep around Deadly Needles for much longer, create back to back dimensional rifts, and even summon two Black Holes at the same time. After his health bar is depleted, Magolor Soul gets knocked away, drops a single apple, and enters his new second phase by using brand new attacks based on the Sand and Mecha abilities introduced in the remake. For the rest of the fight, Magolor Soul uses many deadlier combinations of attacks, and also has a lot more health. An altered version of "Supreme Ruler's Coronation - OVERLORD" from Kirby Star Allies also replaced "C-R-O-W-N-E-D" in this fight.

Queen Sectonia
Kirby: Triple Deluxe Story Mode
The Arena
After Taranza fails to stop Kirby from defeating his rival, he calls Queen Sectonia for help, but she immediately blasts him away and introduces herself to Kirby before starting the battle. Sectonia has the ability to teleport, and primarily uses her magical staffs to shoot lightning at Kirby, and often transforms them into rapiers to attack Kirby. In her second phase, she summons a massive jewel and launches Kirby onto it, continuing to attack and summoning Antlers while Kirby must avoid falling off. After being brought back to the main arena, Kirby defeats the queen, who in a last-ditch effort fuses with the Dreamstalk to transform into Flowered Sectonia and spread vines all across Popstar, also encasing Kirby and King Dedede. Luckily, the People of the Sky bring them a cannon, which Dedede uses to launch Kirby toward the flowered queen to take her down. Flowered Sectonia uses multiple eye stalks to shoot, slash, and launch at Kirby. Each time the stalks are taken down, Kirby is brought to another arena with fewer ground to stand on. After the queen's supposed to defeat, Kirby's celebration gets cut short when a vine grabs him. As he screams for help, Taranza and King Dedede appear to free him from Sectonia's grasp, and throw him into a Miracle Fruit to transform him into Hypernova Kirby. This powerfull puffball can suck up Sectonia's attacks and send them right back at her to break her defenses, and eventually inhales her giant laser beam and health bar, spitting out the former back in her direction to put her tow her eternal beauty sleep. Flowered Sectonia is also the final boss faced in The Arena of this game.
KTD Dark Meta Knight battle 2.png
Dark Meta Knight's Revenge
Dededetour! After King Dedede defeats his own shadowy counterpart near the end of Dededetour!, the Dimension Mirror reappears yet again. King Dedede jumps into it and gets taken to the Mirror World, where the shadow of the strongest warrior from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror appears before him to take his revenge, under the title of Dark Meta Knight's Revenge. While still using many of Meta Knight's attacks, the dark knight also gained some new attacks since his last appearance. His primary new attack is called Blade Burst, which involves him summoning giant Galaxia-shaped blades from the ground. At the start of his second phase, Dark Meta Knight hides himself in a piece of glass and creates two fake clones of himself, with all three attacking King Dedede at the same time. If the king hits a clone, it will shatter into glass that homes in on him. After a couple attacks, Dark Meta Knight fuses back into one to start attacking a lot more aggressively. After his defeat, Dark Meta Knight gets recaptured by the Dimension Mirror, which King Dedede swiftly destroys using his mighty hammer.
KTD Soul of Sectonia battle 3.png
Soul of Sectonia
The True Arena After defeating all prior bosses in The True Arena, four of Flowered Sectonia's eye stalks are shown consuming one Miracle Fruit each, transforming the queen into Soul of Sectonia, supporting a new light-blue color scheme. Like previous Soul bosses, Soul of Sectonia performs all of her attacks much faster, almost always using multiple eye stalks at once to attack Kirby. A major difference is that Soul of Sectonia begins using four eye stalks in the third section of the fight, instead of the fourth. She also has a new attack called Vine bind where she shoots spiky vines at Kirby, and she can summon a new Antler variant known as Lord Antler. After her first health bar is drained, Sectonia seperates herself from the Dreamstalk and begins to rapidly fly and teleport across the arena. She also starts using many classic Soul boss attacks, including Shooter Cutter, Splash Rush, and a combination of Bound Pound and Deadly Sun called Deadly Bound Sun. Aside from these attacks, she uses even harder to avoid Vine Bind attacks, and summons many Antlers and laser beams. After her defeat, she explodes into pieces, leaving nothing but a single petal to float down before the sunrise.

"Running Through the New World" is a stage theme from Kirby and the Forgotten Land. This theme is the secondary theme from this game (after "Welcome to the New World!"), and its leitmotifs appear in many other themes as well, most notably the various World Map themes. It was composed by Yuuta Ogasawara.

Notably, "Running Through the New World" was the first theme from Kirby and the Forgotten Land that was revealed, as it was used in the reveal trailer showcased during the September 23rd, 2021 Nintendo Direct.

Composition

Kirby, about to start running through the new world.

"Running Through the New World" is a rather upbeat, and exciting song. It begins with a piano in C major, and then proceeds with the main melody played by a flute and seconded by strings. It then modulates to D major, reprising its sections with a more rich instrumentation (an orchestra containing wood and brass instruments, along with strings), and finally returns to C major before looping. The melody primarily ascends in chords and descends down a scale. One of its phrases is a musical quotation of "Kirby's Triumphant Return".

The variants of this theme follow the same general pattern, though with a slightly different and simplified melody. Each version uses a different set of instruments and supporting effects. The most notable variant in this regard is "Beginner Treasures" (used for early Treasure Road stages) which is an almost entirely electronic and fast-paced version of the song. Another notable variant is "Pitch-Black Horror" and "Pitch-Black Valley", which play in dark areas in later stages, and has an unsettling minor-key progression with more unique aspects to the melody.

Game appearances

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, the main version of "Running Through the New World" mainly plays in the first level: Natural Plains. It plays in Point of Arrival (once entering the city portion), Downtown Grassland, Rocky Rollin' Road and the very beginning of A Trip to Alivel Mall.

Being one of the main themes of the game, "Running Through the New World" has many full arrangements:

  • "Natural Plains" - A calm arrangement that plays on the map in Natural Plains.
  • "Wild Results" - An arrangement that plays on the results screen at the end of a stage.
  • "Beginner Treasures" - An electric remix that plays in the Treasure Road stages in Natural Plains and Everbay Coast.
  • "Everbay Coast" - An arrangement of "Natural Plains" that plays on the Everybay Coast map. It has a hint of "Abandoned Beach" at the end.
  • "Wondaria Remains" - Another arrangement of "Natural Plains" that plays on the Wondaria Remains map and ends with a hint of "The Wondaria Dream Parade".
  • "Pitch-Black Horror" - A spooky arrangement that plays in the dark areas of Invasion at the House of Horrors and Forgo Park.
  • "A Quick Nap" - A short jingle based on "Running Through the New World" that plays when Kirby takes a nap in his house. It also features the 1-Up jingle at the end.
  • "Interview" - An arrangement that plays on the results screen for the Meta Knight Cup and The Ultimate Cup in the Colosseum. It also contains hints of "Welcome to the New World!" throughout.
  • "Winter Horns" - Yet another arrangement of "Natural Plains" that plays on the map for Winter Horns and ends with a hint of "Metro on Ice (theme)".
  • "Dazzling Treasures" - A remix that plays in the Treasure Road stages in Wondaria Remains and Winter Horns.
  • "Pitch-Black Valley" - An arrangement of "Pitch-Black Horror" that plays in the dark areas of Moonlight Canyon and Forgo Wasteland.

The motif also shows up in many more tracks:

Many of the game's jingles are also based on "Running Through the New World". Additionally, at the start of Point of Arrival, some birds can be heard chirping the first measure of the theme.

The theme with a shortened intro is re-used as the theme for when 50-11 players remain in a round of Tetris 99 during the Kirby and the Forgotten Land Maximus Cup. "Wild Results" is used as the results theme upon finishing in 2nd or lower.

The theme was performed live at the Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Festival, as part of "Green Greens ~ Running Through the New World".
