Trident Knight is a stout enemy first appearing in Kirby's Adventure. Trident Knights wear armor resembling that of a samurai warrior with a crescent moon decoration on their helmet, and use electrified tridents as projectile weapons. Part of the Meta-Knights group, Trident Knights appear during Meta-Knight Mid-Boss sequences, typically spawning on high platforms and throwing tridents down at Kirby. Like the other members of their group, they give no ability when inhaled and swallowed.

Game appearances

Kirby's Adventure/Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

Trident Knight debuts as a member of the Meta-Knights in Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. It is fought alongside the other group members Axe Knight, Javelin Knight, and Mace Knight. During the battle, it will stand on a ledge and throw tridents in an attempt to damage Kirby. It can be defeated by using Copy Abilities or inhaling and spitting the tridents back at it.

Kirby Super Star (Ultra)

Trident Knight re-appears in Kirby Super Star/Kirby Super Star Ultra with a similar role to that of its previous outing. In this, however, it is capable of charging at Kirby with his trident in addition to its trident throws.

Unlike Axe Knight and Mace Knight, Trident Knight has no dialogue in Revenge of Meta Knight.

Kirby Mass Attack

In Kirby Mass Attack, Trident Knight is fought with the other Meta-Knights at the end of Stage 4 in the sub-game Strato Patrol EOS. Its moveset has been reworked to fit the style of the subgame. Now, its only attack is charging downward from the top of the screen, followed by an upward thrust once it travels off-screen. Trident Knight also appears in the Kirby Quest sub-game. Similarly to Strato Patrol EOS, it is battled with the rest of the Meta-Knights in Chapter 3.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

Trident Knight makes a cameo in the Kirby: Planet Robobot sub-game Meta Knightmare Returns. When Meta Knight uses his Meta Knightmares attack, Trident Knight appears with the rest of the Meta-Knights to defeat all on-screen foes.

Trident Knight also appears as a sticker, taking his art from Kirby Super Star.

Kirby's Dream Buffet

In Kirby's Dream Buffet, Trident Knight appears on a Character Treat, depicting his artwork from Kirby Super Star.
